Carer burnout.

Carer burnout.

I think I may be experiencing carer burnout. Not sure what to do about it cause I can't change the situation at home. I feel helpless and hopeless. I see my therapist on Monday, but I can't be bothered to go or talk really. I feel numb, like I just don't care, cynical and irritated by this world and there are moments where I am actually scared that I might do something desperate. I kind of feel like it's over, I'm done, whatever I was meant to do in this life has been done and I just want to die now and dying feels like going home. A few times the last few days I have thought of going to ER but hey, :face_with_rolling_eyes: I am too strong, high functioning, perfect, to do something so silly, so I just hold on and hope all this goes away. It's so weird, if someone asked me if I was a threat to myself, I couldn't answer, I don't know the answer to that. Not sure what to do. Better get dinner on, diabetes waits for no one.

That's a wonderful idea @Lemonjuice, and it could help if shared across the women in the street too. Maybe each take turns, or work out who does well in each role and allocate the resources so everyone plays their part. Small community halls often have trestle tables as well, so hopefully there are enough tables for all the families to join in. Love the thought of the street all getting to know each other and learning who is who in the neighbourhood. A little envious of you having the library so close by as well

Community = 😀😀😀

Meals where everyone brings a plate to share = 😀😀😀 @Lemonjuice

Having someone who is good at cleaning up after these dinners = 😀😀😀

What a fabulous idea, well achievable and does not need to cost much. A plate of roast veg is gluten free, vegetarian and vegan so caters for a lot of dietary restrictions. Soup & bread rolls are another less expensive option.
