Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Well hello to anyone who's discovered this new thread .... and welcome!!!

For some time I've noticed things are a bit quiet on a Saturday, especially in the evening. So this will be a social gathering for all forumites and hopefully a place to relax and meet friends. It's also a place where you can talk about whatever's going on for you at the moment, safely, and find support.

If you want to bring something to eat or drink that would be welcome, whatever makes you happy.

Actually that may be a good place to start - jump in anywhere and let us know one thing that makes you happy - currently or over time.

Really looking forward to finding a posse to hang with on a Saturday.

L E T ' S P A R T Y !!!

Today my only committment was a visit from my writing buddy that I will do the residency with. We're trying to get together once a week. We share what we've written since the last time (if anything!) and do some writing exercises together. She's very widely read and has been an actor most of her life (now in her early 60s) and is really good at challenging me. And somehow I manage to stimulate her too, despite feeling quite the novice by comparison. Because she was coming I spent the morning reading a book called How to Write (Australian) and actually wrote a piece that I'm quite pleased with in response to one of the exercises. Yet again, kind of memoir but with some licence taken in places. That's my forte. When I share it it's in the creative writing fiction genre (sometimes stories, sometimes poems/prose), but often a lot of it isn't actually fiction. This time it was around the theme of how life with PTSD (not actually mentioned) brings flashbacks where we re-live the experience that over time can be recognised as memories and we can observe them without becoming immersed in them. But how daily life (and often nightly too) is a mishmash of both.

Hi too @Silenus if you're around at all.
