Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Well hello to anyone who's discovered this new thread .... and welcome!!!

For some time I've noticed things are a bit quiet on a Saturday, especially in the evening. So this will be a social gathering for all forumites and hopefully a place to relax and meet friends. It's also a place where you can talk about whatever's going on for you at the moment, safely, and find support.

If you want to bring something to eat or drink that would be welcome, whatever makes you happy.

Actually that may be a good place to start - jump in anywhere and let us know one thing that makes you happy - currently or over time.

Really looking forward to finding a posse to hang with on a Saturday.

L E T ' S P A R T Y !!!

And of course the beverage of your choice.

EDIT : Do feel free to contribute some music too. Of any style. The more the merrier ...

Welcome!!!

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Hi @Anastasia Yes I'm enjoying my Diffuser - The changing Light colours is quite a novelty.

I need to find a better spot for it - I don't have enough Power Points (old house), has always been a problem.

I put it in the Kitchen/ Dining Room (because there's a Power Point) - Yet I cannot see it in there.

I need it in my Bed Room, yet don't have a spare Power Point (to run it).

My Baby Birds are all grown up now - So I can barely tell the difference from the adults.

They were all far too hot today (panting & distressed), even at 10.00am this morning.

So I've had to hose the Aviary Roofs twice already today.

What about a double adapter @Adge

I'm sure you've thought if that already 🙂

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

I've got Adaptors with 4 outlets running off virtually every Powerpoint @Anastasia

All of those are in use, by electrical equipment.

It's a mad scenario.

There was No Powerpoint (at all) in the Bathroom, when I moved in (bought).

Who designs a Bathroom with No Powerpoint?.....

I shall have to think some more - About how to solve this problem...

Yes maybe another Adaptor.

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Very good @Eve7 7Km is a long walk.

Was the walk better, because it was Pink (just asking)?

Interesting idea, labelling a walk a colour....

I like bright coloured clothes, by the way.

I have several pairs of orange shorts & orange pants.

@eth

So glad you are settled in your new home. I hope it affords you some benefits from your last 2 homes. Yes I remember you were in Darwin too. I also hope you can be secure there for a long time. It gets harder to move as we age.

We really do need to limit our screen time. The more I talk to young parents the more they realise the need for management. Good management of screens was lacking during the internet hysteria of late 90s & Naughties. So glad schools have finally banned phones.

Take care bella

@Libra I just read your post about your son's recent admission. It is heartbreaking and an experience I sadly know.

I am very slow in learning to protect myself from blame for other people's illness. Now I have some financial security and responsibilities are fewer, I am working on finding my limits and boundaries. It is so unreasonable for adult children to blame thier parents and hold them responsible for everything, but it seems to happen a lot. A lot more in this age than ever before, with all the "awareness" of the importance of chilhood in human development, parents have become scapegoats. When we actually do love our adult children, it is a crazy situation to shoulder more blame. I am planning to be more quietly assertive and NOT accept so much blame, but it is hard to get the opening. At least my boy has moved out and I am gradually returning to myself again after about 15 years of high stress living with him. I actually understated the stress on me at the time. Not sure if he will ever realise that.

Find ways of SELF CARE.
