Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Well hello to anyone who's discovered this new thread .... and welcome!!!

For some time I've noticed things are a bit quiet on a Saturday, especially in the evening. So this will be a social gathering for all forumites and hopefully a place to relax and meet friends. It's also a place where you can talk about whatever's going on for you at the moment, safely, and find support.

If you want to bring something to eat or drink that would be welcome, whatever makes you happy.

Actually that may be a good place to start - jump in anywhere and let us know one thing that makes you happy - currently or over time.

Really looking forward to finding a posse to hang with on a Saturday.

L E T ' S P A R T Y !!!

And of course the beverage of your choice.

EDIT : Do feel free to contribute some music too. Of any style. The more the merrier ...

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Hi @Doglover @outlander @Gazza75 @MDT @eth and anyone else joining the Saturday Soiree yesterday and Sydneysiders suffering storms yesterday

It must have been chaos and I hope everyone is okay - I only knew about this after I had aksed someone at the Sunshine Coast Airport why so many planes were delayed and one cancelled - my plane was very late but the most important thing is that as far as I know all the planes got to their destinations safely - I do feel for the people in Sydney who have lost so much from such a bad windstorm

I would have had the perfect chance to join the chat yesterday but after I had posted one message I realised my battery was flat and I thought to charge it but that was not a good idea - I took my snack and my computer back to Departures and stayed in my seat - those who did not were standing for a long time and that is not something I would have managed very well

But here I am back in chilly and rainy Melbourne where I like to live - I was wearing cotton trousers and a short sleeved shirt but didn't feel the cold until I got out of my taxi - brrrr - and into my unit which was fr-eezing - warm enough here now but yep - I am really tired today

I hope other people had a good day and good luck everyone in Syndey

Hi @Owlunar glad to hear you're home safe and sound and warmed up. Maybe next week we'll see you here.

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Thanks @eth and @MDT

Perhaps I will get around to the chat in the Saturday Soiree next week - if the weather doesn't ease up of course - we have had a few glorious weather in Melbourne but only a few - we have had a lot of rain and icy wind - perishing weather

I have warmed up - it was actually hot in the airport yesterday - the flight back was good though - a bit bumpy - I saw the most glorious sunset - it lasted for about an hour - I kept watching that and the moving map on the IPOD they gave me - then I fell asleep for a short while and when I woke up the beautiful pink and red colours right alone the horizon had gone - it was worth taking the late flight to see that and I really thought I might miss it when my plane was delayed but we took off on time

My heaters have been on high all night and all day - still I can feel the draught - it is really cold here and stormy

I can't use my oven right now so without my usual fresh food I didn't have anything to cook on the stove top except canned food which is okay - I am looking forward to my own home cooking though - I have someone coming to take me shopping tomorrow and I have (hopefully) defrosted some chops for dinner. I have to wait until an electican checks my oven after a bit of a cooking accident

Perhaps I could have gone shopping today but I was tired - I feel better now than I did earlier in the day - but go out in the storm and get thoroughly chilled - no way

What a bleak night

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Thanks @eth

Today has been okay - not quite as icy as it has been over the weekend and considering tomorrow's anniversary I have been doing okay - this year has been so different

So I went shopping with my worker and have some fresh vegetables to cook with my chops for dinner tonight - I am looking forward to this - I also saw my doctor and he was surprised that I had been away - I guess he was pretty busy

I seem to have caught up with my chores since I got home - of course I had a lot of washing - don't we all when we have been away - the first load dried over night in the warm room and I have the second load airing now

Twice I have had bad dreams - they do leave us feeling strange when we wake up - that's normal - I have read Carl Jung on dream analysis at university and these dreams which very vivid - didn't need any indepth explanation - very straight forward and horrible - normal though

The difference I have been feeling compared with other years even last year has been incredible - I think we never ever get over that kind of trauma - any serious trauma really - but we can somehow come to some kind of acceptance - yes - it's was terrible and always will be but we can endure and to live the best life possible - we need to learn how and maybe I have.

I wish I could teach it though
