Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Well hello to anyone who's discovered this new thread .... and welcome!!!

For some time I've noticed things are a bit quiet on a Saturday, especially in the evening. So this will be a social gathering for all forumites and hopefully a place to relax and meet friends. It's also a place where you can talk about whatever's going on for you at the moment, safely, and find support.

If you want to bring something to eat or drink that would be welcome, whatever makes you happy.

Actually that may be a good place to start - jump in anywhere and let us know one thing that makes you happy - currently or over time.

Really looking forward to finding a posse to hang with on a Saturday.

L E T ' S P A R T Y !!!

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

I hear you @Fluttershy1 are you able to have 'me time' in the midst of what's going on for you and do some gentle self-care stuff? There are a few threads that have been going a long time about what some of those things could be ... Coping Box , Re: what’s in your tool box ? and toolbox might possibly have some suggestions that are helpful for you. I know what the roller coaster can feel like - I have bipolar 1 and complex and chronic PTSD and sometimes either or even both flare up. I'll either escalate and accelerate or go down in a heap. Neither is healthy for me. For me managing is a balance of meds, therapy, and self-monitoring and doing things that help me feel more balanced when needed. Which might be - sitting in the sunshine, gardening, planning and cooking to share with others, listening to music, writing, colouring, crochet - different things work for everyone. Sometimes it helps to have a list of such things and when you're feeling out of kilter you can refer to it for a prompt.

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

@Fluttershy1 I just read your anxiety, depression, DID thread and I love the expressions you put at the bottom of your first post. Another one I like is 'feel it to heal it' and at the moment I am telling myself often 'that was B4 and this is B5' - coz of lots of old memories coming up and trying to make sense of them. And one more I like is ' nothing about me without me ' ... relating to getting copies of any reports written about me, and generally having agency, choice and control in my life.

Does anyone else have a favourite expression that helps soothe MH symptoms?
