Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Well hello to anyone who's discovered this new thread .... and welcome!!!

For some time I've noticed things are a bit quiet on a Saturday, especially in the evening. So this will be a social gathering for all forumites and hopefully a place to relax and meet friends. It's also a place where you can talk about whatever's going on for you at the moment, safely, and find support.

If you want to bring something to eat or drink that would be welcome, whatever makes you happy.

Actually that may be a good place to start - jump in anywhere and let us know one thing that makes you happy - currently or over time.

Really looking forward to finding a posse to hang with on a Saturday.

L E T ' S P A R T Y !!!

And of course the beverage of your choice.

EDIT : Do feel free to contribute some music too. Of any style. The more the merrier ...

Welcome!!!

@Adge .......

Rainbow cheese toastie mmmmm yummmm

I lived in the top end for 17 years before moving to mid coastal NSW - this is my 3rd winter in 20 years - still really feeling it! Sitting here in 4 layers including puffer jacket and beanie with the heater on! Rainy and about 11 degrees atm.

I think @Shaz51 is up north somewhere ... ?Shaz?

Yes, well life (especially meals) would be bland & less tasty without cheese @Shaz51

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

A Rainbow Cheese Toastie @eth Well that's very different.

I've never seen one of those...

We have much higher temperatures than the top end (in most of WA except the far south).

Without the humidity, that further north has.

Broome, several 1000's of Kms north of here - doesn't get as hot, but is very humid.

I found the humidity hard to bear, even when living in Brisbane (Qld) - which isn't as hot as here (either).

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

It's 20C here today (apparently) @Shaz51

It's supposed to rain all weekend.

No rain yet.

Yes I knew you were in northern Qld.

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

There are no real mountains on the West coast.

That's one reason why the climate is very different from the east - hotter & much drier.

Mountains draw rain, & cooler temperatures.

Hence the lower rainfall, & warm winds (coming from the desert) here.

It's been getting drier & hotter (according to the weather bureau).

Annual rainfall has reduced by over 30 percent (1/3), over the past 30 years.

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Here's some trivia - Broome (Pearling town) in northern WA, is only 600Km away from Darwin (NT).

Just across the border.
