Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Well hello to anyone who's discovered this new thread .... and welcome!!!

For some time I've noticed things are a bit quiet on a Saturday, especially in the evening. So this will be a social gathering for all forumites and hopefully a place to relax and meet friends. It's also a place where you can talk about whatever's going on for you at the moment, safely, and find support.

If you want to bring something to eat or drink that would be welcome, whatever makes you happy.

Actually that may be a good place to start - jump in anywhere and let us know one thing that makes you happy - currently or over time.

Really looking forward to finding a posse to hang with on a Saturday.

L E T ' S P A R T Y !!!

And of course the beverage of your choice.

EDIT : Do feel free to contribute some music too. Of any style. The more the merrier ...

Hi @TAB ! Hope you're well this morning.

Hello @Owlunar sorry to hear about your spine getting worse. Good to hear you have a referral to a good pain specialist. I too am avoiding surgery for as long as possible for Morton's neuromas in my feet. Saw a new podiatrist this week and she totally agrees. New orthotics are going to cost me $800+ out of pocket but I have to do it.

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Good to see you here Tabby Cat and Hamza - let's all enjoy Saturday this week

And Hi Eth - I had to look up Morton Neuroma - that sounds painful - we have to have our weight on our feet whenever we stand up or walk - I can imagine waiting at the airport for your luggage is an effort and we can wait and wait and wait there

And orthoticis do cost a lot but are worth it - orthotics are part of my history - I had toes that were badly aligned and it took years but gradually the bones fused and now they don't hurt - orthotics helped a lot -

And like you I am putting off having any surgery. Mine would be in the spine - not happening right now - I am past the age of thinking it useful - it also scares me - it's not just the operation - it's getting over it - somehow I can't imagine myself being patient at all.

I knew my spinal pain was increasing but blamed the cold weather and my self-induced reduction in medication - the MRI proved it to be caused through progression

I have to used the internet to fill in some spaces in my anatomy-awareness - gained when I did a formal course in it a long time ago - yes - that was a long time ago - and some of the terminolgy needs brushing up - but I understand enough to know this isn't fun

But I will be okay - I am not an infernal optimist - rather I tend to cope by being pessimistic - not too much so - just aiming to get the best out of the half-empty glass.

Being optimistic would be too hard and to risky - that's why I use the adjective "infernal" -

Dec - feeling positive about life though
