Something’s not right

Where to go?

Where to go?

I have nowhere to go.

The local Mental Health Service has traumatised and rejected me.

My GP does not want to deal with anything unless I take drugs again.

The phone and online services do not help and do not offer confidentiality.

Online Forums will not let me express myself.

The only option left is the Catholic Church, which is weird being an aetheist. At least the priest will offer confidentiality.

Probably will just bottle it all up until it gets too much. That is where it is heading.

Re: Where to go?

@Former-MemberThe email is hardly encouragement. It does categorise me and I feel stigmatised for my mental challenges. I do not fit into this industry. I get it. If only I would be mentally ill in the proper way all would be much easier, but that is not me. If I post in the manner you want then it is you that has the voice, not me. My voice, it seems, is not acceptable.

Re: Where to go?

We know the Egg came before the Chicken .... that is well established. Beat it by many millions of years.

Did I start posting here because of an impending crisis or has that come because I joined here? This is one of the many thoughts running around inside my head. It is probably one of the better ones.

Maybe someone can edit this post to make it seem hopeful and optomistic. I am definitely not feeling it. The weather is lovely, the sort of day that used to make me feel it was good to be alive. All I feel now is a hole in my chest, heavy eyes and thoughts of doom and gloom.

I am writing this to get it off my chest. I know it will go nowhere and do no good.

Goodbye.

@Orwellian I wish i could offer you more but all i can do is be here to listen (provided there is a post at all considering what has been said above) I really hope you find what you are looking for somewhere but i can understand why you may be having a hard time finding it here.

Re: Where to go?

Feeling a lot better now. It is amazing what difference some reflection makes.

Have a few commitments to fulfil, and some things to finish. Then I will be free.

Cousellors are unable to talk to me and they would have confused things.

So things are on an up for a while.

Re: Where to go?

Why is it that people cannot accept decisions made while rational but with which they disagree?

While I know I have a mental illness it is clear that there is no assistance of which I can avail. So with that not being an option the choices come from a limited palette. The laws which cause this set of circumstances are not of my doing but they do affect the outcome. Changing them is not in my power and those bound by them seem to defend their existence. They believe that, on balance, they are of benefit. That is probably true, but some on the other side then have the consequences of those policies. Such is Life.

Re: Where to go?

@Orwellian you bring up a good point about making decisions. I find it quite frustrating that it is pretty much assumed that people with mental illness (certain ones more so than others) arent able to make a rational decision whilst having symptoms. even if you lay out the steps and the reasons that got you to a decision if you have the stamp of mental illness your opinion is void even if a non mentally ill person came to the same conclusion. it really isnt fair. yes it can affect some things but i really dont think people with mental illness are given enough credit for what they are capable of. i always found meds frustrating for this reason i didnt want to take them because they made me feel worse and i had bad side effects but i was told i didnt want to take them because i "lacked ingisht and couldnt see that i needed them" when i was very aware that there was something wrong that i needed help with but i just disagreed on how it should be dealt with. unfortunantly laws are made for the masses which usually means they are made to cover the butts of officals incase one person deviates from the norm. yes they are important for social cohesion but they do take away some freedoms. i personally dont think there should be a mental health act not because people dont need to pay attention but i think currently they just further stigma by making implied assumptions about people with mental illness being dangerous. that and the fact that there is no cancer health act or diabetes health act why should one type of illness mean that people who dont know or care about you take aways your human rights indefinetly. i just think it is the wrong approach. anyway sorry this is so long i hope you are going ok.
