A conversation with Sarah Wilson // Wed. 11 May // 7pm AEST

This Wednesday author and presenter Sarah Wilson will be joining us for a conversation about anxiety. For Sarah’s next big project, she is delving into the deep and philosophical questions by exploring her own and others’ journey through anxiety.

We will be tackling questions like -

Is our aim to be happy?

Does uncertainty affect anxiety?

What does your anxiety look like and feel like?

So grab a virtual cup of tea and join us from 7pm – 9pm AEST to hear more about Sarah’s story, share your own insights and contribute to Sarah’s upcoming project.

Hi @Sarah108 , @Former-Member @Shaz51 @Pepperoni

for me.. anxiety is everything feeling overwhelming - like there are a hundred things needing my immediate attention and knowing that i cant attend to it all at once.. including racing thoughts.. tight chest and closed feeling in my throat.

i'll be popping in and out as its almost kids bed time here,

lj

impossible to know where it comes from and I don't think it helps to try and analyse this. i think it helps to know that it is so so so common and that we all need tools to deal with anxiety. If we don't have any tools and think it is abnormal then our anxiety will skyrocket and then it becomes cyclical and chronic.

Hey @Mazarita - love this response. The autoimmune disease...has anyone ever made the link between the two for you?

Hi @Sarah108, yes, it was a naturopath who made the connection between crohns and mental health in me. I also once read a study on the web that showed an unusually high number of mental health inpatients with crohns disease.

That's a good point @joannah. For some, unpicking the cause isn't helpful. Although I've had many clients in the past who really needed to know how they had come to be this way. There is something within us that needs to make sense of our experiences.

Insight isn't always the same as a 'cure' though so your focus on strategies and the here and now is important too.
