Exo's Exposé

Exo's Exposé

Looking for somewhere to hide in the Forum, no offense to anyone, I'm just kinda used to my own space - it feels safer to me. I often feel like I'm 'butting in' on other threads, I want to say something but it isn't 'in-line' with the current flow of conversation.

It rained here yesterday, dogs & cats weren't falling from the sky, but the grounds wet, there's puddles in my driveway & it's soooooooo sooooooo much cooler 😄 Guru Google even promises more!! After this weird wet stuff stopped dropping from above, I took the dogs for their walk, I do this almost every afternoon, but after a storm with close lightning strikes, my main purpose is to check the fence is still upright everywhere. I'm happy to announce it was all in tip-top shape 🙂 I noticed new puddle spots all the way around, I was sad that some trees had to be pushed over for the fence line, but the dip of their absence looks quite beautiful with a drop of moisture shimmering within. When I had completed the usual circuit I by-passed returning into the house-yard & wandered through to the dam. I think I may have been a little rain-drunk, I was hoping to see water in it, there wasn't any. I even went & stood in the very center of it's base, I think I was expecting to sink in mud - I didn't; but the cracks are gone . . . & they were huge. So if the Guru comes through with it's promise, there may yet be a puddle for my Staffy to play in 😉

I've decided to leave my camping trip to the beach for another week, rain wouldn't stop me - it rarely rains 24 hrs a day, but storms have - they often have devastingly strong winds that can break off & pick up reasonably heavy objects, that become dangerous ammunition. I've been emailing with the owners of this place, I'll still be in the off-peak season if I leave it another week - though I worry being so close to the Easter holiday, there's a more likely chance of more people. I keep telling myself I've just got to 'get over' that, that that would be all part of the experience - but I know I'm lying to myself. I picked this spot mainly because of the dog-friendly off-lead beach, but also because on the satelite view of Google maps I could see that there's no towns around it. It's one of the most isolated camping parks I've seen {that's within 5 hours of home, well - maybe just a little more}. It also admits it has old amenities, I saw negitive feedback about the place for those reasons - I think if you want to go to a resort . . . that's where you go - not to a place that describes itself as a rustic, old fashioned bush camping park 😉

Re: Exo's Exposé

I didn't get any contact from my Daughter on Sunday, I am disappointed, not devasted - she's already done that to me in the past. I don't think my expectations were too high . . . I expected a text, I checked Facebook but there were none nowhere. Being a Mother of 5 herself, she wouldn't have forgotten. I probably don't have many Mothers Days left & seems I'll be disappointed for the last of them.

Re: Exo's Exposé

Dear @Exoplanet so sorry your daughter did not contact you on Mother's Day. Seems cruel of her to be honest. Does she know about your health? Glad by contrast that one of your grandchildren contacted you not that long ago. Have you been in touch with your sister lately? Love to you and a belated mother's day greeting for you from me, with no children and no hope of ever having someone say that to me on that day. Neither am I devastated about that, but your disappointment is understandable. Hugs my friend.

Oh @Exoplanet That is not right Hon. I am so sorry you had no contact for Mother's Day - nothing can change the disappointment you must be feeling but please know how much you mean to us here and how much I wish I could wrap you up in the love and care you deserve. Hugs and hugs and hugs Hon 💖💖💖

Re: Exo's Exposé

@Mazarita @Zoe7 Yes she knows about my health issues, I wonder whether she's angry because I chose not to undergo all the treatments, I really don't understand. Thank you for catching my post & my disappointment. I have talked to my Sister, I sent her an email & she rang - it was good to actually be able to say what happened. I also sent my Daughter a Happy Mothers Day message on Facebook, it's probably a little petty, a way of saying I noticed she didn't acknowledge me - but I do still care & love her & I worry about her. Her eldest son ran away from her & went to his Father, that must hurt & cause a lot of guilt.

Love to you both & all that need or want it ❤️

Re: Exo's Exposé

I don't think sending your daughter a Mother's day message is petty at all - it shows you were thinking of her What she takes from the message is up to her - and I do hope she has some regret for not contacting you @Exoplanet I know everyone has their own lives and issues to deal with but it is disappointing for you that she could not even send a simple message ....really feel for you Hon

Hey @eth @Zoe7

@Mazarita @Shaz51

@Exoplanet Its hard isnt it.

I am in same boat with my daughter/s. Whereas I am battered down into the pretending that there is no such thing as Mother's Day. It was easier that way. I went to church instead, liked what they said and received a mini bouquet. Think I will go back as they do care about social justice and environment and do not bible bash. It is a lovely old bluestone and close. Had a few mild but genuine and good interactions at coffee after.

I dont think my son could handle the responsibility of Mothers Day, it triggers him as well with all the family fragmentation. Some years he has remembered. This year he remembered my birthday that was a first and mattered. My daughter heard early about the idea of divorcing one's parents. I have had to let go, and my sister no contact. My mother was always beyond reproach and I was one shamed and shunned. Recently my ex manouvered a swing and apparently there is contact finally with her father. Drove me mad, was the straw that broke this camel's back when I had manic episode in OCT/Nov last year. I concentrate on understanding my history and workling on myself. I had a good piano lesson today, student is starting Khe Sanh and Choir Girl ...
