A Tattoo of a Crazy Face Smilie

A Tattoo of a Crazy Face Smilie

Hi all. I hope I'm not breakng any forum rules by posting a picture of a tattoo I have on my wrist.

This tattoo is very important to me (I guess most people who get inked do it because the tattoo(s) have significance to them).

Regularly, I will look at this tattoo of a crazy face smilie, and it will remind me not to take myself too seriously. That's what used to get me in trouble with depression and bad mood swings. It makes me smile just looking at it.

I've seen a few people with semicolon tattoos. It can start valuable conversations about mental health. Personally, I believe those conversations are important.

Hugs, happy vibes, and crazy face smilies beaming to you all...

This is a serious question and not meant to be rude.

Can a mod explain how this is a breach of the identifying information rule? I totally understand if it their name as part of the tattoo or had their face in the background of the shot etc. But if it's a straight up shot of their wrist I don't understand.

Hi @mrkotter,

The identifying info rule usually applies to anything that is unique to you, police even use tattoos as a way to identify people and you can google match specific images which often provide links to peoples FB or other websites as they provide the same image in multiple locations. That is not necessarily the case in this situation but this is just to give you some explanation around why this was likely removed. But I hear your concern in that no other information was provided so I will forward this to the community managers for review.

Thanks for the explanation. No need to pass this on. I'm not looking to change the rules - I didn't even consider that the police might ID people from their tattoos. Further, on reflection I totally forgot about google's reverse image look-up, which might point someone to a face book page.

Thanks - have a nice day.

What an odd world we live in, huh peeps? Reverse image lookups and the like...

The digital age sure has changed things significantly in the past 2 decades...

Huge benefits but also a lot of new risks to contend with.

We wouldn't have had the capability for this site not that long ago. Crazy if you ask me.
