Another BlueBoard Refugee

Hi I'm Ginger, The Whinger Part is tacked on more in honour of my Ginger cat who likes to meow a lot who's identity I have assumed for the internet 🙂

He's currently whinging to empty walls as I am in psyche. I've been in here for a week and am due to start ECT for the first time tomorrow. The ECT doc will be coming to my room within the next half hour. I hope everything gets said that needs to get said. I'm scared about the seizure activity because my body is so good at doing seizures when its not meant. I'm sure it will pass tomorrow with flying colours.

The reason I'm having ECT is for decades of treatment resistant depression.

I'll keep this short and sweet and see if I get any nibbles, I mean responses. Cheers.

Hi @GingerWhinger, welcome to SANE. I think you'll find youself among friends, both old and new. We've really enjoyed the BlueBoard influx and are happy to have you join us too.

All the very best for tomorrow. I hope ECT gives you some relief from the depression. There have been a few threads on here about ECT. In this one both @kenny66 and @8Powerful seem to have found it helpful. Same for @roseasterisk here.

I'm sure it's been a very long road to get here. I'd love to know more about the journey when you have time.

Hi @GingerWhinger, glad to have you here as part of the community. Hope you get all your answers and questions and that the ECT helps treat your depression.

Sorry to hear your cat is meowing at walls while you are in hospital, its always hard being away from those we love and loved by.

Thank you all very much for your warm responses.

ECT has been put off to Wednesday - something I'm happy aboy - so they can be more careful about my problems with anaesthesia and avoid any potential problems where possible.

The Ginger Whinger won't be meowing at the walls tomorrow night. My pdoc has approved overnight leave 🙂

Ginger, that's great you have over-night leave. Will you be home alone? It sounds like the doctors there are nice and cautious. That is a very good thing. They sound very reasonable.

and i love the song shock treatment

ive never done it tho

i just stick to psycho therapy and med

psycho therapy is also a good song

You mentioned you get seizures in general-are you able to elaborate more about this?
