Two steps forward and three back

Two steps forward and three back

Or that at least is how it feels. Half way thro a new group, and a new awareness is emerging. My sensitivities rejection, criticism and the big one abandonment. So as a result of of these things hapenin, or should i say the fear of them hapening, i withdraw. And it hapens without me even realising it.

So ive been trying to adress some of this. Some of it has been successful. But now because of a number of thing happening over the weekend and tonight. I feel like ive lost it alll again. Reason mind is trying to tell me i havent lost it all. I have gained more awareness, which is a good thing right?

I see my psychiatrist tomorrow . And right now i feel very confused about alot of things. I dont know how i am going to address three or four major issues with him.

Hi Chris,

I can relate to your feeling of being confused and feeling like you have taken steps back.

When I don't know how to address things with my psych I sometimes write them down and if I feel really bad on the day I have just handed over the note without talking. Is this something you could try?

I hope that you will see soon that you're making progress, I find it extremely hard when I'm confused but with gentle help from my Doc I can normally acknowledge that I have come a long way. Unfortunately that does not mean that it gets easier at times.

I just wanted to let you know that I understand you and I wish you all the best.

Hi @Chris

I understand exactly what you're saying. I get it. Like @Former-Member said it would be good to write some notes for your session with your psych. Even if you can't write much just a few points is enough.

I have done that a few times and that way my psych knows I am not in a good way.

Take care

Well so much for my appointment with my psychiatrist today. Got there only to be told i didnt have an appointment. I had written it in my diary, i checked and double checked, but no they said no appointment!

So now have to wait untill next week. I dont know whats happened to me this last week. Its been fuul of confusion and getting things wrong.

I have an appointmrnt with my gp tomorow which i think is a good thing. Im waiting on tests results. So i might have a clearer picture of whats going on with me physically and if it is impacting on my mental health.

Feeling frustrated!

Oh @Chris that is so frustrating, especially when you know you checked and double checked.

Thank god you are seeing your GP tomorrow. Is your GP supportive? I hope your results are okay. Could you call your psych and say that if there is any cancellation if they could call you before next week?

Take care

Re: Two steps forward and three back

Hi sadgirl. Yes my gp is very supportive. Ive been seeing him for about twenty years now, so he knows me very well. Infact i found out recently that i am always to have a half hour appointment with him. He never rushes me. He always listens to me untill im finished, even if that means we run way over time. He told me last week not to be afraid to go back sooner if i needed to before getting these results.

My psyc did tell me a little while ago to email him with whsts hapening with me. Then i will get an appointment the same day if he thinks i need it. So im lucky really with the mental health team i have. Ive just gone back to my old psychologist, she was on maternity leave for quit a while (she had twins) it was so good to see her again yesterday. Shes the one person who i feel really gets me. And i feel i can tell her anything.

So for now i will just wait and see what tommorow brings and hope my fluff ball of a cat will come and give me cuddle tonight. Im home alone tonight, both my son and husband on dog watch.

Thanks for the on going support. It means alot to me.

Hi @Chris

How did your appointment go and how are you feeling now?

Did your fluff ball turn up to comfort you?

I am glad you have a good health care team, I think that is the most important thing. I too have a great GP who takes his time when I need time. It took me a long time to understand that I could just let go of the facade when I see him - well at least to some degree I do.

Take care of yourself and I hope you feel better soon.

Hi flower

My appointment was good. My tests showed up some problems of a physical nature, and i have to have some more tests.

I spoke about my mood swings for the first time. It looks as though i am experiencing mixed mood and rapid cycling. He wrote to my psyc at the same time with copies of my test results. So i will see my psyc on Tuesday.

My fluff ball, leo got on the bed with me and snuggled in, which was nice.

Hi @Chris

I'm glad that your appointment went well. I hope your session with your psych next week goes well too. It's always nice when our fury friends cuddle up; they always give unconditional love.

Take care 🙂

Hi @Chris

Sending hugs and happy vibes your way, in the hope that they help... 🙂

When I feel that I've taken some backward steps in my progress, I remind myself to be gentle with myself. I also tell myself that we always need to take backward steps in the great dance of life. Otherwise, we just keep dancing forward into a wall... 😄

Hi @Chris

We havent "talked" for a bit. You have come through a lot lately, so a bit of confusion is understandable.

I am impressed that you have a good health team. I tend to get people who move on... not sure if it is marked on my forehead .. or what ... Though I am thankful my Osteopath has not moved ... seen her for about 8 years .. continuity makes such a difference.

You also have a lot of awareness about your group dynamics.
