The Beer Garden

The Beer Garden

i encourage you all to join me for some casual drinking, social lubrication and light laughter right here in the beer garden.

Oh and before anyone gets up in arms about alcohol and its dangers the main beer on tap is VB or virtual beer

beer is the third most commonly consumed drink in the world behind water and tea

why not share the worlds joy with friends

Re: The Beer Garden

Hi @Kurra I think you're making the right decision in talking to your supervisor. Just make sure they don't tell the others who told them. The others have shown their true colours and I don't think there would have been much point in getting into conflict with them.

Re: The Beer Garden

Hi @Kurra

Looks like a classic case of split loyalties to me .....

If I write them out for you, according to what you have described (as I perceive it), perhaps that will give you a clearer view to your own answer ?

If it doesn't, I am happy to give you an opinion on it, both as an employee, and as a company owner .......

Just sayin' ...... I think that point 4 needs to be the highest priority in regards to your own welfare, so if you do choose to speak to your supervisor, your anonymity towards the others has to be paramount.

1. "No dobbing" as a personal value
2. "Stick up for the underdog" as a personal value
3. Be loyal to your company's interests as an employee with integrity
4. Don't set yourself up to be shunned and victimised by people with 'different' values than yours who have already shown what they do to people who they don't respect, and it is very important to you to want to attend work, and keep your stress levels under control
5. Inform the company about issues that affect their integrity and staff morale, including workplace bullying, and allow them to manage their own affairs from an informed position

Another thought ....
Can you write an anonymous letter ?

Re: The Beer Garden

Thanks for the replies.
To make this move through an anonymous letter would I believe place in question the verity of the content. I'm not afraid to stand up and be counted for what I and any reasonable person would perceive as unacceptable. Preparedness to identify myself also indicates that I believe it is a situation where accountability and integrity are sufficiently important to require at a minimum a cursory investigation based on fact. I would not be naming any particular person unless I were specifically asked for mames.

I understand what you are saying about setting myself up for potential victimisation and increased stress but I strongly suspect any decision not to take any action would be likely a perfect recipe for Kurra to commence self victimisation and self-flagellation.

I will start with my supervisor who is legally bound to release any information only to persons who have a work based, genuine need to know.

Thanks 💜

Re: The Beer Garden

Sounds like a good decision to me @Kurra, but more importantly, you seem to have settled with what you want to do in this awkward situation.

Thanks a million @Faith-and-Hope

It's obviously been upsetting my apple cart considerably since I have a massive headache as well as my neck and shoulders. It sounds like tension related discomfort despite having slèpt earlier.

Re: The Beer Garden

@Kurra

The 'like' is not for your headache ...... 🌷

It's that sort of tension strain that I use Fisiocrem for, and it works wonders for me. Another thing I keep on hand is a small glass tube of Peppermint and Lavender oil with a little rolly ball on the end, like a roll-on deodorant, that is marketed for headache relief. I use it at the temples, but also down the back of both sides of my neck. It makes your eyes prickle tho.

Re: The Beer Garden

Not naughty son. You are just dealing with commitments. Share about it or not. I understand it may not really change if your aunt is still living with you, but really it requires her to adapt to your space and not just take it over. She is obviously struggling too ... I hope your safe space has been set up. How is the garage?

I am doing ok @Jacques and so is my irl boy.

I have set up a weekily digest to help manage my Sane forum time .. but with you I just check if you are visiting ... you dont have to talk to me ... as mum we want our kids to talk to lots of people.

I never did the "dont talk to strangers" much as a mum ... mostly I see society needs to set up links and not put up walls.

It does matter that you get exposure to all types but learn to see what are ultimately good interactions, and steer away from the less good.

It has been interesting how the forum is changing .. lots of good and troubled people .. a bit of work to actually read the threads .. it gives me hope though.

I hope you dont drop out all together

Love Mum
