The Beer Garden

The Beer Garden

i encourage you all to join me for some casual drinking, social lubrication and light laughter right here in the beer garden.

Oh and before anyone gets up in arms about alcohol and its dangers the main beer on tap is VB or virtual beer

beer is the third most commonly consumed drink in the world behind water and tea

why not share the worlds joy with friends

A mulled wine thanks. This stuff is addictive.
I'm poor again. I just realised I should have paid my rego on Friday. Thank heavens for online payments.
I scrapped rehearsal today. It's just too wet for the drive there.
This vino is good!
Cheers everyone!!!

Re: The Beer Garden

Cheers to you all, say I...

And huggles...

Awww... why not go full on?

Huggety huggy huggles to you all peeps... 🙂

It's still blowy here. The rain has stopped. I had to give our mobile home (a converted 1983 Toyota Coaster bus that's been our home for the past 2 years on the roadtrip to end all roadtrips around Oz) a bit of a check for leaks and make sure everything was all okay...

Well, with all this rain we've had, of course the ants had decided that "Mi casa su casa" was a good life philosophy, and took it upon themselves to move in and start building a nest inside the semi-sealed voltmeter dial unit that shows the voltage coming from the solar panels to the battery...

They'd filled the bally thing near to overflowing, with eggs and stuff... hahaha... they were everywhere...

They turned my voltmeter into an ant farm...

Damn you, ant overlords! We have our compact, which you keep conveniently forgetting...

It's easy. There's an agreement I have with every ant on (and in) the planet... it's called a compact. I give them permission to roam about in every single part of the world, except for my home. In return, I give them diverse crumbs and other delicious snacks that accumulate on chopping boards, fed to them at a decent distance from the aforementioned house...

In return for this kindness that I bestow upon the ants, they agree to stay out of my home...

Except, well, most of the time they conveniently forget this compact, and make incursions into various parts of home...

We are not amused. There shall be tense words had at the next truce meeting, scheduled for next Thursday...

Next Thursday - Important day... I call it Formici-Day...

Giggle...

Re: The Beer Garden

When the global ant nest-mind reaches critical mass and the point of self awareness, it will recognise humankind, and rise against us. Ants account for a whopping 15-25 percent of the entire planet’s terrestrial animal biomass. Personally, I offer daily crumbs and humble thanks to our future ant overlords. Long live the antocracy. We await Ant Armageddon – better known as Formici Day…

Re: The Beer Garden

I'll try one of whatever that is @Silenus is having thanks barkeep. Sounds wicked.

Need to clear my mind. Just read the latest disability news from c'link and saw that they will be doing major reviews from 1 July for 3 years. Somehow I muddled my way into the tables of assessment (which may have been changed too) and just worked my way through all the criteria for recognition of permanent mental health disability. I was hoping it would lessen my anxiety that hit after I read about the reviews, but there was no information on just how many points you need to be accepted. I couldn't bear to lose my pension. It would spin me out completely. Ah well I will just have to jump through the hoops if and when it happens. So chill me out barkeep.

Re: The Beer Garden

Hi @Shaz51. Thanks for the tag-thingie... giggle... how are you doing?

Aaahhh... @eth - yes - society's fascination with punishing those who are weaker and in need of support... I'm not a big fan of that. I hope the hoops aren't too onerous...

Is there a person who can give advice on navigating the complicated inner workings of a bureaucracy gone mad? Do such humans exist, I wonder?

There's an extra-warm hug heading your way... 🙂

Re: The Beer Garden

@Silenus If I do get reviewed I would start with my team - GP, psychologist and psychiatrist for help with the hoops, but I'm going to do my best not to think about it too much unless it happens. So hit me up again with another cocktail - rock my socks off with the juke box. Put it all out of my mind.

How do you manage to know of so many unusual alcoholic beverages?

what's making you achy @Shaz51?
