..he was embarrased in a way cos he had put on weight, yet he being he, managed to drop 10kg in 4 wks cos 'he didn't want to be fat old guy in pics' and he was actually very proud of it, and talking to him prior, was a bit like an election, was funny .. parents loved it @Former-Member

..he is/was my best friend for decades, re younger brother, you mum you, had lots in common re experiences, if not achievements ie he was the achiever ..and yeah dunno re German, could be led to water, but if left to own devices would just not change anything..even made me wonder.. @Former-Member

yeah for years I'd talk about family when meeting people how sad is that.. was better than talking about me ..and guess some of it may have rubbed off on me ..lol..and yeah re 'types' I fell in with some pretty worldwise 'dark' women for a while, so may just leave it at that. What interested me was that while they were talking 'types' they themselves became a' type' ..it's the past for me anyway and best avoided.

@Former-Member lets just say without thinking too far, that they were both attractive, both had kids, both over well 40 ..and were very well preserving despite having a very hard life and at times I wouldnt have wanted to be with anyone else
