The Beer Garden

The Beer Garden

i encourage you all to join me for some casual drinking, social lubrication and light laughter right here in the beer garden.

Oh and before anyone gets up in arms about alcohol and its dangers the main beer on tap is VB or virtual beer

beer is the third most commonly consumed drink in the world behind water and tea

why not share the worlds joy with friends

Re: The Beer Garden

😉 I had a second but I felt it heighten my awareness too much! Some days it hits me like that.
I'm trying to calm down.
Some of life's injustices are not fair.
No Matt er

Re: The Beer Garden

yes injustices are never fair ..I have a list of things that I should be getting on soapbox about, having been bugging me more than usual recently, as with one of them, not only is it not changing, the people who put it in place are running their own agenda ..in the opposite direction, and yes it's re a government rip off that affects me personally in a huge financial way.. anyhoo, time to get letter writing .. had an abortive attempt on some 'crowd' site last year .. any hoo @Former-Member and yes, no one cares, and it affects tens of thousands of people.. someone in power needs reminding though

Re: The Beer Garden

@TAB. Letter writing can be a good thing, if not just to pass the anger to paper momentarily!
I get that.
I could agree a lot of people in power operate for self led agendas.
I think a cold is trying to wrap it's hold on me, so my 'fight' is heightened to let certain people know I've had enough of them!
Maybe it internalises, hence the cold!!
Smart maneuvering us to tackle one at a time!
No bull at a gate heroic!! 😁. ..no 0-100's Leia!

Re: The Beer Garden

well what set it off again was latest crack down on centrelink. hanging around centrelink offices taking 10 visits to process a simple claim has made me aware that people earning 100,000 a year can still get centrelink payments if have young kids, on top of childcare payments etc and pensioners are allowed over a million dollars in assets etc .. wtf .. when I was studying years ago I had to give up 100 a week in centerlink payments to get a loan for 200, so I could live .. ended up with a 50k debt, am still paying it off, funny thing is though, I reckon in was a scam, well they knew it and cancelled scheme, but they should pay me back the 20 grand i was entitled to, with interest .. oh, and my super fund that claims average return of 10% yet when see statements only ever goes up by the amount I put in it .. they claim not for profit, its an industry fund, but they are all raking it and have flash offices, perks etc ... all a scam .. any hoo ... @Former-Member .. yes, need to write letters

Re: The Beer Garden

@TAB, well my dealings with centrelink have proved it's not a system they allow you to understand. You do the right thing & get punished for it. It seems. Others wrought it black & blue & never get found, caught out.
They have departments to report unfair activity, but basically you have to hand on a platter for them to investigate. I gave up with it.
It used to get to me greatly when we had a family & nothing. It was so hard, de-moralising etc.
So I got to point of wanting as little as possible to do with them.
I'd rang, been in, & each time a different story.
We actually appealled a very clear payment or non payments we were entitled to, to get nothing. This is like well over a year if not two that it took.
Very wrong system.
It's a bit like 'ice' outbreak in l gal system. Junkies are getting off crimes committed, but if you drink & drive you go to jail. Ice is clearly a dangerous, & prevalent problem causing worse incidents, to be robbed off.
Yeh, I'm not sure on some of the law making...it's very wrong.

Re: The Beer Garden

totally agree re lack of info regarding centrelink, its like a thimble game ..get told something ok, then 'team leader' decides not happening but doesnt bother to let me know in my case . repeatedly.. these days only they have the whole picture and make 'calls' ..hoping you just go away, well if I had something and could I would ..der ..

yes, re 'ice' I starting looking at rehab for alcohol recently .. seems to be full up with ..guess who ..yet look at media and its all alcohol re violence etc, well govt gets 60 plus % tax on alcohol so theyre happy lol

..anyway.. got 2 loads washing on, dr's this afternoon.. bla bla looks like nice day out @Former-Member I'll shut up now re rants.. woke up thinking about it tho ..

Re: The Beer Garden

LOL..good idea. Occupy the mind elsewhere!
Yeh, tax on alcohol. Sheesh.
It's a conspiracy theory baa,ha,ha!!

Re: The Beer Garden

yeah its not really a classic conspiracy, but well, anyway, have no say in it ..funny that alco pop tax from 5yrs ago still in force think, just too hard to find out. ie they doubled the tax on premixed drinks cos some kids were drinking them. Apparently. lol Yes will write self a list re dr's, re what I want addressed. And getting results, so ..hmm.. @Former-Member and thx
