Decluttering and home maintenance

Decluttering and home maintenance

When MI crisis happens, keeping house can take low priority. But having a messy house can further dent what is often an already low self esteem. Build up of grime follows and rodents have a field day in inaccessible places.

Getting that 2 minute job done (that has been annoying you for years) can lift ones spirit.

I have slowly been decluttering and tidying up our house. The progress made thus far has been achieved primarily by persistently dealing with one item a day.

What has often kept me going has been the encouragement from others @Faith-and-Hope, @Smc @Determined @Shaz51

This tip passed on to me today. Hang all your clothes in the wardrobe with the hanger back to front. As you wear them, return them with the hanger the right way round. In 6-12 months review all items that remain on back to front hangers with a view to donating/selling them.

Friend has a simple board with appropriately placed nails to hang their garden tools from (simple but effective), have an idea as to what I might like but will google @Smc 😀.

@Ali11 we ARE kicking goals here 🙌👍😀. I would find it easy to give up without the self imposed accountability of this discussion, the gentle encouragement and shared ideas from others who understand.

Feeling so much gratitude to @Smc @Shaz51 @Determined @Faith-and-Hope @Yimeepim @outlander , getting a bit emotional here and think I feel a group hug might be in order 😀.

Contributing a group hug here while chaos decends for a while around me again .... my enfant terrible is wreaking havoc again, but all to a well-intentioned cause ...... I just need to bury my head in my artwork and survive this round 😥

So pleased for you @Former-Member ❣️

Yes, relationships are more important than material possessions @Shaz51.

@Former-Member, that cartoon is very close to being a depiction of Dad's shed. Sadly, it could also be our carport.
Seriously, we'd better have both greatly reduced before they become our kids' inheritance.
