Decluttering and home maintenance

Decluttering and home maintenance

When MI crisis happens, keeping house can take low priority. But having a messy house can further dent what is often an already low self esteem. Build up of grime follows and rodents have a field day in inaccessible places.

Getting that 2 minute job done (that has been annoying you for years) can lift ones spirit.

I have slowly been decluttering and tidying up our house. The progress made thus far has been achieved primarily by persistently dealing with one item a day.

What has often kept me going has been the encouragement from others @Faith-and-Hope, @Smc @Determined @Shaz51

This tip passed on to me today. Hang all your clothes in the wardrobe with the hanger back to front. As you wear them, return them with the hanger the right way round. In 6-12 months review all items that remain on back to front hangers with a view to donating/selling them.

Haha @Former-Member still have not advertised it yet.

I did manage to sell a car though 😊

One thing less to worry about.

Today managed to unload 4x security screen doors, 1x genset and box of odds and ends between big bro and mum today.

Bro also helped to lift some heavy storage boxes (we are storing for someone else) on to a high shelf at the back of our shed. FIL will be happy as this frees up space on his work bench.

@Faith-and-Hope

Can I check I have current status right:

Old house west = going on market
New home east/west ?yet to move in
Retain appt for studio + visitors

Interim = stuff dumped anywhere & everywhere including in your studio space where you don't want/need it.

Yep @Former-Member

No sense of home anywhere ..... learning to be a. turtle / snail and live in the moment with what I have around me, and head in the sand until this latest cyclone stops spinning ..... then start picking up the pieces .... again .....

Seems to be a life pattern. Nothing to do but go with it, hoping / believing that things will be better, and there will be future joy as a result, despite the sense of desolation that comes each time this happens.

😔
