Hi @Owlunar , Tea is a pretty poor 2nd to caffeine, theres no doubt about it. Day 2 of no coffee and the black mark against the company gets larger!

It's a nice thought about the garden and fruit, I like that others can help us grow and prosper as well. There are so many different experiences and perspectives on life it is really amazing.

It sounds like yoru tapping worked out for the best. Sitting next to two flu patients in a doctors is a recipe for trouble. Good work in getting rid of them. The weather has been crisp in the mornings. Yesterday for the first time, I had some ice on my windscreen, but, the day turned out to be quite pleasant and sunny.

I would keep trying to communicate when your having dark days, you help so many people here wth your courage and encoragement. If it helps lift the bleakies even a little bit then its well worth it.

Have a great day, hope its a bit warmer today. One day closer to the Sunny Coast 🙂

Hi @Gazza75 @LadyleahRDBloom @Former-Member @BryanaCamp @Former-Member

I am having my first coffee today and it tastes so good I feel sorry Gazza that your company has not provided you and your workmates with the necessity material for getting the best out of there staff by providing coffee - black marks indeed - yes

I don't like tea - really - I truly do not - and I used to drink it a lot. I think it has something to do with teabags - my Gran was in charge of the teapot when I was growing up and she would have harrassed anyone who remotely thought of cleaning the inside and I think it's true that the patina on the inside has something to do with making the real-deal-cuppa.

Of course I have a story - when do I not have a story? I worked at a huge complex - Government owned - and there was no fridge and the sugar had coffee in it and the coffee had sugar in it and I have no idea what happened about the cups - I am delicate in that area - and there was no milk either but that whitener (which had coffee and sugar in it) and I took my own cup and coffee into work and drank black coffee for the duration. University undergraduates will do whatever work is available and I really liked that holiday job but not the coffee situation -

Perhaps you take your own coffee in tomorrow - maybe that will be your little secret and you will feel more up to whatever the day has for you

I just though - can you nick out and grab a small tin? I am an old hand and getting around the ridiculous - I have so many stories

And you are right - I should - really - I need to - share my bleakie days - I felt a bit like that when I got up but felt better after I had my coffee. The weather in Melbourne yesterday was so cold - the wind-chill was bitter - the clouds heavy and dark - I am glad I had a busy afternoon - and so glad I am off to the Sunshine coast really soon

I like aeroplanes

I like your feedback on the gardens and how they enrich us and from there we can enrich the lives of others - I am no gardener - I have a brown elbow - my beauitful daughter - who is the rose of my life - did a gardening apprenticeship and has worked in the area since she left school and is now a highly qualified horticultural advisor. She has magic green fingers - and I know she grew up and flourished in spite of her troubled brother - or maybe because of him.

My gift was in the kitchen - she does well there too - she is a wonderful person - I am so glad to have her

There we are - coffee and sharing my life - hoping you can get your caffeine fix today - thanks Gazza

Re: With coffee .... without coffee. A place for us coffee lovers and coffee!

Congrats on your getting through your first day in your new job @BryanaCamp - well done - this is the good news for you yes - it's not easy starting a new job

Don't worry about the small-talk - that's all it is - filling in the spaces in the air so that people don't confront their anxieties - you will learn about the necessary social side of the workplace as you listen -

And working in a library too - ooh - sounds interesting - there was a time in my life when I was in different libraries as part of my studies at university - I love libraries - warm buildings containing all that information - well done Bryana

We have just passed the winter solstice so the days are very short and the sun sets early - though a bit later each day now - so walking after work will become easier as the weeks pass - a short walk is better than none and goodonyer for getting out for a short walk after your first day on the job - I stay inside during bitter weather like yesterday in Melbourne - really freezing the walls of a bark humpy here yesterday

All the best - I am glad you are working again and I think there are people in the work force anxious that their mh issues don't show - but they are there - you write very well so I am sure you will fit in

Re: With coffee .... without coffee. A place for us coffee lovers and coffee!

Hey @Owlunar , @LadyleahRDBloom @Darcy @BryanaCamp @Sherry

I used to drink a lot of tea as well, though not all that much from a tea pot. I stil drink a bit every now and then. My parents tea pot would be well over 50 years old, i'm not sure if its been more than rinsed in all that time. Not sure the last time it was used, probably 20 years ago.

I don't find the milk whitener all that appetising, but, I struggle with black coffee so I'd probably take it if in that position. Its not bad in the hot choccy I've been having the last few days though. I thought about bringing the coffee in today, but, i don't have much time to think in the mornings. Its pretty much, shower, coffee and dash out the door. There are lots of road works going on around my town at the moment and if I leave to late I get stuck in traffic and a 5 minute drive drags out to 20-25 and its painful. It's likely to go on for another 2 years so I better get used to it.

I might see if I can get some coffee at lunch. I've found a 1/2 decent decaf that I enjoy. Not sure why I am persisting with it as i've noticed no change in my sleeping or moods. Probably more grumpy without a proper coffee if anything.

I like the taking off and the landing of aeroplanes. When I landed in Japan all the passengers clapped which I thought was interesting. You could hardly see anything on that flight as there were so many people smoking in the back few rows.

It's great your daughter is so skilled in horticulture and the kitchen. I find in the garden, it a good mix of inelligence, intuition and hard work. I really enjoy it when I can find the time to do it properly. A lot of it comes down to good planning and preparation. I'm not great in the kitchen, but, can usually follow simple recipes and instructions.

I think here, we are gardeners of the heart, mind, soul and spirit and thats probably the most important you can get. If we can enrich our lives with each others stories and tales then its well worth doing. Helping each other through the bleakies. I think most of us here have endured great hardship at times, but, that lets us see a beauty and a richness in the world that others can't properly appreciate.

Hope you have a good lunch and arvo

Gazza

Re: With coffee .... without coffee. A place for us coffee lovers and coffee!

Hi again @Gazza75

Hot coffee and a hot shower have improved my disposition greatly - always love a hot shower - the day is grey and gloomy but I feel better - still not into the chores yet - I get up late - possibly because I got to bed late - and I read for longer - this is the great side of being retired and living alone - I can please myself most of the time

Road-works can delay traffic - this can be an issue for getting to work on time and it seems you are not an easy riser either - I get it - feel that way myself and like afternoon appointments - insist on them most of the time and I am taking afternoon flights this time - last year I spent the night at the hotel at the airport - I will do whatever I can to make life easy for myself

The first trip I took in 2015 was not to my liking - I have long legs and there is no where to put them in economy - I fly business class now and get the front window seat - love this - and the service also - I give myself plenty of time - most airports have a business class lounge - free breakfast or lunch - or just snacks - it's really nice to sit in the business class lounge with my computer - sometimes they have wifi but I have a USB connection and you could guess that I like to travel in comfort

My first trip back from Tassie was interesting - we flew over a storm and we were in a holding pattern for a long time - a very long time - and when we went into land the storm was scary and yes - when we landed everyone clapped and cheered - strange that people clap when landing in Japan - I could wonder and wonder but let's not

Smoking on planes - that must have been a way back - I think there are international laws against that now - even using E-cigarettes - there are smoke detectors in the toilets - so we are told - I don't smoke myself so I am not inconvenienced but things have changed certainly

Chilly afternoon - the thought of flying north soon is really exciting

I hope you can get some coffee to your liking today

Re: With coffee .... without coffee. A place for us coffee lovers and coffee!

Hey @Owlunar ,

I get up late when I can, which isn't very often. If I have to go to the city I'm up very early, if not then my working hours are pretty reasonable. I don't mind getting up early, honestly, its just I'm a dam heavy sleeper and take some waking up. I'm very lucky to have the job that I do.

Economy is normally pretty cramped. I have flown business class one time. My regular seat had trouble with an air conditioner leaking right onto Me so I got transferred into business class. I must say I did quite enjoy it. The service and food was so much better.

Your trip back from Tassie sounds interesting. Glad you touched down in once piece. I've been lucky and not run into much trouble when flying. My relatives last year got stuck in Dubai for 24 hours which was a nightmarish experience for them.

The smoking was a long time ago. I'm sure it would be outlawed well and truly by now. Rightfully so.

I'll have a nice cup of coffee this afternoon.

I bet the excitement for your adventure is building 🙂

I haven't caught up on all your posts yet but thank you, it's awesome. Hope those bleakies get lost Dec and hope you can find some coffee for during your long work hours Gazza - that's impossible a weorkplace w no coffee! Really gald you're feeling well Gazza, well done, you must be great at dealing with pressure & stress. Did a lunch time walk yesterday, I guess about 40 mins, not far but better than nothing. Was way too pooped to walk when I got home from work as I'd gotten a bit lost on the way home & it took an hour to commute! Take care my kind friends, good luck with getting some walking in Gazza & super well done for the gym workout

Re: With coffee .... without coffee. A place for us coffee lovers and coffee!

Hey @BryanaCamp , Glad our support is helping you a little. Thanks for your kind words and encouragement. Work have finally come up with some coffee, but, its not the kind I prefer. I will have to take @Owlunar 's advice and purchase a little bit of my own. I would of got some yesterday, but, I left my wallet in the gym bag.

I'm not that great at dealing with pressure and stress, but, can usually cope if I'm prepared. I have something coming up on the 16th for work where I have to present to my pears. I'm a bit nervous about that.

Good on you for getting a lunch time walk in. I bet you must power along when your so used to hiking. I'm more of a meanderer and don't set much of a pace. You will get used to the driving and the different hours. Give yourself a little time to adjust. It sounds like you are in positive and supportive environment which is really awesome. Thanks for taking the time to keep us up to date on how you are going.

Re: With coffee .... without coffee. A place for us coffee lovers and coffee!

hi @Gazza75 I think you're great at dealing with pressure & stress as you work full time in a high-functioning professional job. I think you're being modest. I'm sure you'll be awesome on the 16th, you're a bright & intelligent guy with strong people skills so I can imagine your audience will be engaged & informed by you - public speaking isn't my fav thing, I get extremely nervous & my voice fails but I'm sure you'll be well prepared & do great.

Unfortunately I have a funeral today which I';m scared about. Now I'm mostly anxious about the drive - I have to leave work early to attend it & it looks like it will take up to 2 hours driving. But I really want to be there & to be present in the moment, not all nervous and wired & disconnected from the emotion of the event. I also want to be there to support my aunt, want to be a good neice. My pdoc assures me I come across as normal so I'll just have to do my best.

Work is going well. I notice I feel a lot better for getting up at 6am. Who knew it could make such a difference getting up early! I still have this niggling sadness that my closest friend has pulled away from me & I can't celebrate this good experience with her. I feel like she's dumped me for no reason, no explanation. I plan to invite her on a hike as she showed interest in doing something healthy with me. But I'm sacred she'll reject me or ignore the invitation entirely. It's just niggling away at me, like at lunch break normally I would have messaged her & sent photos & we would have joked, now there's just silence. It's a bit lonely and especially hard with no explanation for the cold shoulder.

I'm glad your work got coffee finally but that's annoying it's not a nice brand. hope you can sort that out today if you have time. I only managed two 10 minute walks yesterday, still better than nothing! Yes, you're right I do walk quite fast, it warms me up! Good luck with your walking today. Take care of yourself today & don't work too hard

Caffeine greetings to all on the thread @Former-Member @Former-Member @Owlunar hope you have a peaceful Thursday.
