Christmas Loungeroom

Christmas Loungeroom

For all those who are both celebrating and avoiding Christmas this year the Chistmas Loungeroom is a place for us all to hang out. It is especially for those who will be alone throughout this Christmas period and as a place to come together and enjoy the company of others in what can be a difficult time for many.

Feel free to post your stories, images, grievances, etc. of this period and to leave messages for other members to help each other get through this time of year.

Christmas day can be extra hard for some so this is a place for us all to get together on the day and share it with other members.

Re: Christmas Loungeroom

Reflecting on the year that we have all had is a good idea if we concentrate on the positives first - that is something I am really learning to do @BlueBay @MDT. I think we get so bogged down in the things that have gone wrong and then we dwell on them too much - then the positives in our life seem to take a back seat. Reflections on the year can and should include both but often our brains are hard wired to concentrate on the negatives - one of the benefits of focussing more on the positives is we can retrain our brain to look for them first but that does take practice.

Indeed @Zoe7

I find that modern life is exhausting. That can drain my attention and enthusiasm and as a result I don't notice positives. A lot of positives this year for me - but can be hard to notice due to exhausted, anxious, fearful... Etc...

Many visualisations of failure and insecurity never coming to fruition. But then other things manifest themselves and become challenges..

Hugs @MDT ❤️

@Zoe7 It’s very difficult to concentrate on positives because you’re right our brains are hard wired to see the negatives. Well I know mine does all the time. I can never see any positives and if someone tells me something positive about myself I quickly dispel what they’ve said.

I agree it does take a lot of practice xxx

Re: Christmas Loungeroom

I understand @Shaz51

I don’t want to go anywhere tomorrow either and probably won’t. 💜🌷🌸

Thanks @MDT

Thinking of you too.

I haven’t been able to read much on the forums today, or for a while. Feeling overwhelmed. Just back from overseas last night. Long story. Probably not for this thread. 👋☕️🌺

Not sure what this thread is all about, to be honest @TAB

Is it a celebration one, or one for people not coping with the big “C” occasion?

😬🙃🤔💃🕺🎩

Yes it is for us to be together at this time of year @Former-Member - whether you are into christmas or completely ignre it - it is a place that you can be either and more importantly feel connected and in the company of others that care
