Yes home means different things -- when I was little it was my parent`s house , then I live in my mum`s house

and now I live in the house I inherited from my dad , taken me a while turning this house into our home

I understand what you are saying about home sometimes being closely related to trauma. I am much the same. It was while at a former home that a major trauma occurred. Home is where safety should prevail. But for many, it often does not represent memories of a safe place or a refuge at all. So for me, home has very mixed emotions attached.

I just want to clarify @Former-Member that when I say "...I don't answer to anyone", it means I don't pay rent anymore so I can put pic's on the walls and such. Please don't think I was referring to personal circumstances ok. One day I might be confident enough to share my home with someone I love, but for now I'm flying solo.

Please don't think the worst of what I say. This thread means a lot to me because it keeps my mind and heart in the right place.

Its okay @Hope4me, I did not think the worst of what you said at all. Its just for me, home has mixed emotions, as I feel sure it does for others as well. Yes this thread of yours is lovely and does a lot of good for everyone. I never meant any harm, I'm sorry ... I should not have said what I did. Would you like me to remove my post?

Thanks for 'splainin'' @Hope4me I took it the way you meant it tho ..Home is where I lay my Hat when Im a Happy Cat when Im a sourpuss nowhere really feels like home, well except inside the familiarity of four walls ..

I get what you meant. It is alright. We do not all have to agree all the time. Many people will really identify with your post as it stands. Difference also makes us stronger as a forum community.

I have felt a certain satisfaction putting up pics on walls and then moving them when I wanted. Ngaaw to the landlord scene.

My puddy tat has a large home range. He feels very upset if he has to be inside. I am also registered with safe cat project. I know it is better for wildlife. Keeping balnce in life is still one of my challenges.
