Re: Word for the Day - Comfort or Play

went to Canberra and pt stephens/ hunter valley a few times. @outlander cant really mention 'funny' trips makes me wonder who I was, babysitting f companion, making up again after having them getting me thrown out of swish holiday unit in blue Mountains, that was in my name and paid for by me while they stayed there.. and having to pay bond at another place for smoking, and her shoplifting at coles, even dropping stuff near checkout and still not getting caught.anyway. dropped her at airport, all smiles and made up and well the bill for damage at unit was surprisingly small ..anyway re funny/embarrasing

Okay - @TAB@Faith-and-Hope@Shaz51@utopia@outlander and others

I was 10 and on a road trip with my family - and I got car sick.

So I was outside with mum while I gagged into the ditch and a bill was in the paddock near our car and he came over and roared at us and Dad roared at the bull

And they kept it up - there was a 5 row barbed wire fence between us and the bull btw

And Mum started to yell at me to hurry up and get it over with - no such luck

My siblings started to tease - I was in no position to retaliate and really didn't care

And this was wonderful - my grandmother got out of the car saying "what a lot of nonsense - let the child throw up in peace" and started to walk away from the car

Eventually - it was all over - and I got to ride in the front with Dad while the rest of the family jammed into the back seat (victory)

All the decades later I can see it was funny but at the time - no - I would rather have given my sibs something to go on with - they would never have teased me if I hadn't been incapitiated

Re: Word for the Day - Comfort or Play

I used to walk out to paddocks to talk to the cows 🐄 when on farm as a kid @outlander @Owlunar used to get nuzzles and licks back from them

Re: Word for the Day - Comfort or Play

Talking to the cows is fine @TAB - I have talked to them myself at times

But never had nuzzles and licks back - I might have missed out on something

I rather like cows

Well you still could @Owlunar I guess I thought there was a connection with them

Re: Word for the Day - Comfort or Play

Cows are fine @TAB

Bulls are a different scenario - I was scared of bulls - I would guess I still am -

We used to go mushrooming and I always had my eye out for a bull - and yes - even that young I knew the difference

Bulls - omstars - they are scary - seeing as that bull wasn't in his own pen near the house my guess is he was protecting his cows - etc

MMMMMMMMmmmmmm - Dec

Cows are so cute @TAB @Owlunar
We have alot where we are though i havent seen them for abit as they rotate their paddocks and half is being cut off for building purposes (grrr) but wr usually feed them and show the younger kids how to feed them some hay. They tend to squeal and shy away when they realise how big their tounges are or if they gwt licked lol.
