Hi Hope84, I'm new to this forum too but have been on others such as Beyond Blue for quite a few years. My issues are the same as your's - aren't they such joys to deal with?! The thing I've found about forums like this is that people understand and they don't judge so it becomes easier to be open about how you're feeling, and even more so because it's anonymous. Often people will have little tips they may help or give advice, but at the very least they are sympathetic and willing to listen. Also, you can read other people's posts and the realisation that others are going through similar things somehow makes you feel not so alone. The fact that I'm still on sites like this at the age of 48 means that the issues don't necessarily go away but I have been given good advice over the years that has stopped me from going over the edge.
You can see from my handle that I'm a dog lover. If nothing else, a dog provides non-judgemental and unconditional love - my poor old labrador Sam saved me (along with my wife), whether it be just giving him a pat, getting out for a walk or just being there.
Good luck - I hope you find these forums beneficial.
All the best 🙂
