I feel misunderstood or misdiagnosed

I feel misunderstood or misdiagnosed

This is my first post here. I have been diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety but well both seem true I think I might have borderline personality disorder. I always feel like my friends don't actually like me, and that my parents don't understand my stuggless or refuse to acknowledge that I have any problems in the first place. I cant seem to make any new friends because I'm too afraid that they wont like me or that they'll make fun of me. I also get extremely attached to people that dont like me or people that I dont even talk to. I've been seeing a professional for about 6 months now but haven't made to many improvements. I still struggle daily with thoughts of suicide, low self esteem and uncontrollable mood swings. I've tried everything from meds to weed but I still want to die. If anyone has any advice please help.

Hi there,

It can be tricky navigating life and trying to work out what others are thinking about you. My advice would be just focus on your own self and how you can improve, for a while. Yes this means you might have to be a little selfish sometimes but you will wake up in 5 years and wonder what all the fuss was about!

Once you have sought out and focused on the real you, you will come to accept and know yourself. Then, others will come to accept you as well - If they don’t then move on to a new crowd. Sometimes it’s ok to be selfish. And don’t be so hard on yourself or quick to put labels on what you have, just take the medication which helps you and leave the labels behind, in your positive future.

Re: I feel misunderstood or misdiagnosed

Hi i sort of understand this I know I haven't gone through the exact same stuff but I have a lot of trouble meeting new people and making new friends I always feel I have nothing to offer anyone and wish that I was someone else (I make up a new name in my head and own little back story to make myself feel better). I also get extremely attached to friends or just people I know that aren't even friends that I would do anything for them even though I know they wouldn't do the same for me or barely even know I exist I just feel like I'm falling into a pit of nothing ( I know this comment is supposed to be uplifting and helpful) but just know you're not alone. I have not yet found the power or resources to fight the battle of depression and anxiety. But I hope you do
