|So trapped (why I want to go off my meds) for carers

|So trapped (why I want to go off my meds) for carers

Hi I read on the forums that alot of carers do not understand why their son, daughter, mother etc. go off their meds and do not understand why that is considering the meds control the worst of the symptoms of the mental illness.

I can ony speak for myself as someone who has bipolar1 and schizoaffective disorder but imagine being a wild brumby and having to wear a bridle 24 hours a day .... that is what it is like. You do it because you have to otherwise you are back in hospital or worse .... you put on weight (a lot) are sleepy and see someone in the mirror who is not you anymore.

6 of one half a dozen of the other. Having to take these medications are not easy to do but we do them so when carers (and I am one myself too of my son) wonder why we fall off and stop taking them (again) it is not that we are selfish or bad we are just dealing with an awful situation where there are no winners.

Starting to get back into my hobbies thank you; gardening, walking, listening to classical music, and cooking. And enjoying the beautiful rain. Made carrot cake for my husband, no sugar all fruit for sweetness. That is how I am, how are you?

I hear a lot of sadness and hopeful longing for the expectation of
something better, somewhere, somehow, to relieve this trapped feeling,
believe me, it will come. Often it is our very thoughts that actually keep
us trapped when in reality if we can see a few positive things in the
darkness it lets a little more light in and soon more and more of what
seemed an endless tunnel of hopeless, darkness and indescribable agony
becomes actually our path to freedom. Maybe relief is not in sight yet; be
assured it will come. be thankful for just one good thing and soon you will
find two and it will grow like a mushroom wait and see.

I am a bit confused Shaz51 are you a Community Guide to this forum or a
person in need going through this tough time as I thought your earlier post
outlined. I may have got it wrong, sorry if I have.

@Shaz51 you have a huge load on your plate @Shaze51. that is so much to carry without all the physical aliments you have. Do you love birds? I love bird watching, it helps me de-stress and get in touch with nature which I find most relaxing and sanity restoring.

Who is in charge of delegating those titles Community guides, Community elders and Moderators and Community managers please @Shaz51. Is it something earned by number of contributions or years of membership or something else?
