Major Depression

Major Depression

Hi,

I am finding it really hard to get out of bed at least 4 out of the 7 days of the week. I have three children and they need me to be more focused but I am seriously not getting any where.

We had to move interstate may 2017 because of a traumatic incident, so we have all had to get use to a new beginning. I have a boyfriend and he helps but he works long hours so I am always home alone. My parents and all the family live six hours away from us. There is a waiting list to get an appointment with psychologist. There is not enough funding for a permanent psychologist. I dont like sharing my thoughts and my past with anyone. I haven't made any friends. I am feeling like the worst parent in the history of parents.

I wish I could have someone with me 24/7 so they could motivate me to get through this depression.

Hi @Holly83,

I can only imagine how had it must be to try to be aware of your own wellbeing and mental health while having gone through a big move and looking after your kids.

We have quite a few members around the forums that also have children and have to manage looking after their own mental health while supporting their family.

There is a really fabulous thread called The Virtual Village- a space for parenting stuff started by some of the other members that are parents and struggle with similar circumstances. Reach out in there and get some really great peer support.

Look forward to seeing you around the forums.

Re: Major Depression

Dont worry if you cant get out of bed, that.was my problem wallowing in expectations kept me there...take little steps and reaffirm when you accomplish them but if u don't hey there is nothing wrong with piggybacking onto others you contribute to...in the end.when i really gave into it and said fuck my world commitments i actually got motivated to take care of myself because at my lowest nobody else did but.dang it i am worthy, and I need to take care of myself first instead of all these people who let me be a candle in the wind lol....i have heaps of tools if u need, just let me know 😊

Re: Major Depression

Thank you, I have my good days and my bad days. I am up today and I have done some cleaning, which is good. I am so afraid of the daily motions like answering the phone. How do you over come that when a bad person has caused you that much harm and rang you constantly and attacked me in my home that i had to move states with my family. I am trying to move on from that but it's so bloody hard!!
