Letter to my abuser (triggering)

Letter to my abuser (triggering)

(This may be triggering)

A letter to my brother who sexually abused me when I was 9-12 yrs old -

Dear (brother)

I am writing to you to tell you that I hate you for what you did to me as a child. You abused me when I was an innocent young girl. You took away my childhood my memories of my childhood. I am so damn sngry at you for what you did to me and you got away with it. Hiw could you? How dare you do this? Do you think it would never affect me. Well I’ll tell you how it’s affected me. I’m suffering depression, anxiety, complex ptsd and BPD all a result of what you did to me. And while you live your life I am the one suffering deeply having therapy snd on many medications which you have no idea. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars in therspy but what do you care. You make me sick with your pathetic excuse of a brother. I’ve self harmed many times to get rid of my pain snd even thought of suicide to get rid of the visual memories and pain of what you did to me. But what do you care.

Brothers snd family don’t do things like this - abuse their little sister. What gave you the right to take advantage of an innocent child. I was a young girl.

I never want to see you again. I’m not sure I csn ever forgive you fir you have ruined my life as I struggle still.

And I will never forget what you did. I still visualise what you did to me all those years ago. I cry snd cry for that little child in me for what she has lost over the years and she csnt get it back. You have taken away so much. You are lucky that I haven’t told Mum snd dad but you never know one day I may just tell them.

You go live your life the way you want and I will continue my journey of recovery.

Your sister who is totally heart broken sngry and lost with life

(now I’m crying. This has taken a lot of courage for me to write. But I needed to do it fir my therspy session).

I’m sorry if I have triggered anyone.

@Former-Member if this is not allowed on here pls let me know.

Re: Letter to my abuser (triggering)

@BlueBay It has taken immense courage and strength to firstly write this letter but also to post it here. You have laid your heart out in your words and confronted some of your 'demons' by writing this - what you have now is power BB - the power to write how you feel and the power to take back some of what was taken from you. Just by getting this out you will be able to do it again and hopefully talk through this with your psych. Take back the power BB and you will begin to move forward

You have come so far BB - you couldn't have written that letter this time last year Hon and that not only shows great strength now but also growth. It is no wonder you are feeling what you are tonight - that was an incredibly hard thing you did and I would say would be triggering for anyone in the same position. Lots of self-care is now needed @BlueBay - I know you probably can't even think about self-care right now but that is why it is needed the most. You are the most important person to YOU tonight - let yourself grieve for that inner child but also let yourself applaud both that child and the adult now for the strength to get through what you have. ...and I'll sit here and applaud both of you for your courage!

Thankyou again @Zoe7 it means a lot to have your support ❤️❤️

I will take this letter to my next session with my psychologist and I guess we’ll talk about it.
