So Alone

So Alone

So today i tryed to reach out to my family and mend a few bridges but i was left standing alone. I said that I am so sorry for all that i have done, i have lost my ways and i need help and not one has said a thing to me. I have been crying out for help for so long but i just get told to pull myself together and that im just being selfish and my actions are a low blow. I haven't been able to control anything lately and yet i keep stuffing every thing up big time. I just cant see a way out of this one there is to much damage that has already been done by me. Why cant i just see straight nd keep my feet on the ground. Why cant i just be normal and happy!?!

Re: So Alone

Great to hear that @Confused1!

Lots of good stuff in those few sentences.

  • You seem to like her which will really help.
  • Being uncomfortable yet still opening up to her, fantastic.
  • She's not rushing to tag you with something, sounds like she wants to get this right.
  • Already set to keep this all going, great.

I hope you are feeling much better right now, looks like you are starting to make some progress. Even your post 'sounds' better. Thanks for the news.

Take care!

Re: So Alone

Yeah i actually do feel better today, i know the first step is always the hardest but i think ive just come to a point where i just cant go in like this any more. I want to know what is going on with me so i have a better understanding of myself and my actions, i know its not going to be a quick fix and i do have a long road ahead of me and im not going to like going back into my past and reliving it but basically if i dont do something now my kids will grow up without their mumma and i couldn't do that to them. They deserve me and the best me at that. I have every one on here that has been right beside me over the past week or so to thank with all your support and backing me 100% has kept me going and basically you all have saved my life and i am so very much greatful i really am.

Re: So Alone

Good to hear how you 'sound' is how you feel @Confused1.

Thankfully you realise there is no quick fix for all this and now seem better prepared for the long haul. But you may end up being surprised how fast some things may change. I know I was when it happened to me. Getting a good diagnosis & putting things in place to deal with it can make things a bit better sooner than expected. I hope it goes that way for you.

Thinking about your kids, what they need & deserve, is a great way to get some focus for yourself. Hopefully in the times where things seem to start getting a bit too much you can get yourself thinking of them rather than other unsettling thoughts from the past. They do need their mum to be the best she can be! You already know it won't be easy, but you are heading in the right direction. Other issues can wait until you are in a better position to deal with them.

I'm glad these forums have been such a great help to you. To me it's really what this place is all about. Having people who will support you when you need it & being able to give back when you can. I've only been here a little while myself, but it has lifted my spirits a lot just to be able to contribute something that others may find useful.

I hope you will keep posting & letting us know how things are going. I don't want to hear just when things aren't going well, it would be great to also hear the successes!

As always, take care & stay safe.

Hey confused1
I haven't caught up with the whole thread but your last post is so spot on I think. It's a long road but you are in charge of this road and the pace that you travel it now. You are a strong courageous lady, I'll be walking with you 😉

Re: So Alone

Im starting to feel really impulsive right now. My mind is running 100 miles an hour and i just cant slow it down and its making me feel really dizzy and sick. I have all these thoughts and fears running around and i feel like every one is talking about me behind my back. I feel really jumpy and i cant understand anything that people are saying to me. Im hearing them but i just cant get what they are saying. I feel like im going crazy really fast and my head feels light but cloudy nothing makes sence

Hi @Confused1

Sorry to hear everything's feeling a bit chaotic right now. From reading over your posts, it sounds like you've done a great job of setting yourself up with some ongoing support and being truthful even when it's uncomfortable.

Is there anything that has helped to ground you when you've felt this way in the past? Some people find breathing techniques can be calming, or going for a walk or calling a friend you trust... Just a few thoughts. Do you know what might work for you?

Re: So Alone

Hi, i have now had 2 appointments with my psychologist only to find out today she cabt diagnosis or prescribe basically if i want a proper diagnosis i will have to tell my story over again to someone else..... I walked out of there after my session feeling even more empty, confused and sick with panic then when i first went there today. She tells me that i meet more of the criteria of PTSD but also show signs on Bipolar and borderline personality disorder, but if i want a proper assessment done i will need to see someone for that. I just feel abit let down in a way is there any way she can pass on anything to the new person if that is the case?

Re: So Alone

Hi @Confused1

That does sound frustrating to have to see someone new to receive the proper assessment you're looking for. Did your psychologist say why she could not continue working with you to provide that assessment and diagnosis? Perhaps she is not experienced enough with those particular clinical presentations?

You can certainly request that your current psychologist communicate with your new psychologist, to make the transition easier. Psychologists typically keep notes about each session, she may have some relevant case notes or assessment reports to pass on (e.g., if she is considering a potential diagnosis). You as the client are free to access this information, you can request it, or even discuss with her if you think it needs editing etc. You can request a copy of this information before you leave, for your personal records. You can also request these notes be sent to the new psychologist. Hope that helps.

Take care of yourself,

Mosaic.

Re: So Alone

Hi @Confused1, sorry things don't seem to be going as well as you hoped.

Part of the problem seems to be you were expecting to be able to get everything you needed from one person. Sadly that was never going to be the case simply because a psychologist can't prescribe medication. You were going to need to see someone else, a GP, psychiatrist or similar anyway. And of course, they are going to want your story before prescribing.

And as @Former-Membersays, maybe your psychologist is in some way uncomfortable diagnosing your combination of possible illnesses. It really makes it harder on you, having to go through it all again, but in a way it is good. Perhaps she just wants to make sure they get it correct.

Yes, she can pass on a lot of information, but even if she does you are still going to be faced with answering a lot of tough questions. Many that you have probably answered before & quite likely a lot of new ones too.

I really hope you can stick with this & make it through to a better understanding of the where you are at right now.

Take care.
