Vote on the new button icon!

Hi everyone,

As part of the ongoing responsive project we have been making further enhancements to improve your experience of the forums.

Through this process we have done some user research into our current ‘Like button’ that is partnered by a thumbs up icon as shown below:

Feedback in the research indicated that the concept of a ‘Like’ button does not always fit with the content nor the context of a post or discussion, particularly those of a more serious nature. Members mentioned that having the ability to instead indicate their supportive feelings in some way would be more appropriate and fitting to the forum and it’s culture.

Various constructive titles and icons were suggested throughout the research by both community members and the responsive project team. The SANE forums team and Community Managers worked to best consider the options that were both appropriate and safe for the community.

The outcome of this work is that the ‘Like’ button will be replaced by a button labeled ‘Support’! A new icon image has also been considered and we need your help to tell us which icon you like better.

We are taking a vote from you, the community, and the icon with the most votes will be the official icon for the new support button.
