being a perfectionist
Hi everyone,
So i'm back at work (literally sitting at my desk at the moment - kids are playing with MAB maths blocks lol)
I think that a bit of the stress i'm feeling is because i'm focussing on everything that isnt 'enough'.. that I could have done better, or more of, or with more detail. I'm trying to do some paper work stuff and feeling like a failure before i've even started because i know that it wont be good enough.
Last weekend i spent all saturday night working on some things that were for both myself and other teachers to use to make sure that it was 'good' enough to hand out but realistically i dont think that it needed such infinite polishing and sometimes its purpose and use is more important than its prettiness etc... but then when i sit down to do something i just can't leave it till its done to the tenth degree. But im in a state where i cant even put anything down on paper/lap top because nothing is right and im feeling so anxious and so i'm sitting here writing on here instead! and ready to run away.
Does anyone else struggle with this type of thing? Has anyone been able to challenge it and be able to let go of the 'little' things? if that makes sense? Its mostly at work that I'm like this - though it was the same at uni and such like.
