Need to literally get this off my chest!

Need to literally get this off my chest!

I have severe anxiety and prior to that panic attacks! I'm getting pulpurtations just near my heart but more the nerve next to it! This a new symptom and its scared me so much. As soon as it happens I go into panic mode, almost like prior panic attacks.

I've had heart traces and blood and everything is okay apparently. I just wish this would stop I felt like I was making progress and along comes this!!! I know this will ruin my recovery I'm just so over it all Atm.

Hi @Blue012

Sounds really scary! You've done the right thing by checking in with your GP and I wonder whether they've referred you for some support to help you manage the feelings of panic?

Talking with a counsellor for some ongoing support sounds like a good next step. In the meantime, chatting with some forum members about your experience and coping strategies will help too. You can search for coping strategies and information on anxiety and panic by typing keywords into the searchbox at the top of the page.

Oh and if you're intersted, here are some resources on coping with panic too:

Self help for panic

Online interactive info on anxiety

Breathe app < - a useful visual guide for supporing the use of breathing strategies when you are feeling anxious.

Hope that's useful for now @Blue012 Look forward to seeing you around the forums 🐨

hi @Blue012
anxiety can cause all sorts of symptoms. when you notice yourself starting to get anxious try to calm yourself and regulate your breathing. when you start to hyperventilate your not getting enough oxygen in and so puts more pressure on your heart.

Have you got some supports in place to help you?

Thankyou,.I do have supports but now feel they just think ohhhh no another anxiety attack and I'll get over it! Which I always do but it feels my supports are now over me if that makes sense!

if your not finding those professionals supportive though maybe speak about how thats affecting you or have a look for another support person? some fresh eyes might be a good thing?

Thankyou.

I'm still having a look around!

Its absolutely dreadful I wish we could turn it off!

Its also hard to continue relationships with people who dont understand but at the same time cant blame them for not all understanding

@Blue012
i know! i think we need magic wands to help us huh.
relationships is another tricky one, im not good at those myself but having to pretend we are ok or having to put up with the get over its etc dur to either ignorance or lack of understanding becomes really tiresome.

have you been able to contact someone about your latest anxiety symptoms at all? have they eased or still the same?

Re: Need to literally get this off my chest!

I'm scared of medication due to my tolerance so I've been given meds to taper but as soon as I feel sick I blame the medication or stop my antidepressant. I feel its got worse but I'm working so hard.

I have health anxiety as well but going to a doctor scares me so I never seek help. But do have a new psychologists and psychiatrist. Some say its rebound anxiety!! I'm so unsure
