Why do people stay away from people who need the most help?

Why do people stay away from people who need the most help?

So I've got on a path of learning to push everyone away. I have trouble trusting people because I believe they misunderstand me. Perhaps I just don't express myself properley. Or perhaps its because they don't want to try to help someone who seem s too complicated. Does anyone feel isolated by people who should be helping the most? I'm confused. I've asked for help many times but its as if they get bored of my self destructive ways

I think a lot of us on the forum have had similar experiences with asking for help and/or pushing people away. @Anna16

I like the idea in the "Open Dialogue" thread about social networks being depleted .. somehow there is less blame on the sufferer or their family, friends and general social networks ... Sometimes we can only give so much ... our modern society really does need to build communities ... not just community centres.

Hi @Anna16

Your experience reminds me a bit of what @abrepeat wrote about here. In that thread, he wrote about how makes friends with people, and then pushes them away in destructive ways. I wonder if he can offer some thoughts here?

@Anna16 may I ask how longs things have been this way?

Its been this way for a while now. Maybe over 10 years at least.

Here is a thought ... it may not be appropriate ... but are they the right people for you to have in your life?

... sometimes we are better off in a different demographic

Did something happen 10 years ago?

BTW, you might be interested in an online event that's on right now. It's the Friday Feast. It's basically virtually hanging out with other members on here.

I feel like this is exactly something I would write, @Anna16 It's as if no matter how many different ways I try to express myself, no one is ever satisfied enough. You can be calm, you can be angry, you can be crying in front of them explaining exactly how you're stuggling and what they can do to help but all they hear is that they aren't perfect. So they give up, there's no effort and you sit back and wonder after so many people, is it just me?
