Self care- walking and cycling

Self care- walking and cycling

There used to be a thread around exercise but I couldn't find it so starting a new one.

Recently my GP has been lecturing me about more exercise in order to loose some weight reduce my blood pressure and get some other stress related ailments under control. Now is a good time for me to start as I have just started a 4 week study break from uni.

My goal is to do minimum 30 mins (target 1 hour) per day 5 days a week of either walking or cycling. Posting here as a form of accountability. I cant use the weather as an excuse as we have both a treadmill and an indoor cycle trainer 😁

Wow @Determined that is a lot of stepping! Well done! I must say ever since January when my mum got sick I have been very slack in the exercise department. I used to exercise 5-6 days a week but now 3 if I'm lucky. I am trying not to be too hard on myself though. We can be our own worst critic!

Earlier in the week I was excited as I had lost some weight (combination of exercise and reduced stress). Well I checked again this morning and it seems I found it again 😐 (or it found me lol).

Hi @Former-Member, jogging mostly. Very good for clearing your head but it’s hard to find the motivation when it’s cold! How about you?

@Determined try only jumping on the scales once a week, on the same day, at the same time of day. If you weighed yourself in the morning, then again at night after dinner, it can affect your results by quite a lot! Hope it helps 😊
