My life partner has Bipolar ii

My life partner has Bipolar ii

I unapologetically care for my husband who after a long mental health crisis has been diagnosed with Bipolar ii + more.

It is a tough gig at times but I believe we can live well in spite of his diagnosis.

I understand that not all relationships can survive a diagnosis and this is no criticism or judgement on anyone but in this thread I would love to give to and receive encouragement from others who hold the same value I have, that is that I voluntarily chose to remain in union with my husband to the exclusion of others and to ride out the bumps of his mental illness.

Dubious humour is guaranteed.

@Mrsjones

There were a lot of new and unfamiliar emotions, a lot of which were confusing and at times uncomfortable.

Important not to set any time limits.

There are resources available such as the family book from beyond blue https://www.beyondblue.org.au/the-facts/suicide-prevention/after-a-suicide-attempt/support-after-a-suicide-attempt

but I found most related to someone who came home soon after an attempt - it was close to 5 months after the event when my hubby was discharged.

Thank you @Former-Member.
Its been a very hard week with its ups and even more downs, but as of today we are moving forward. We have managed to move him to a private clinic where he is more comfortable.

Thanks again for checking in. Sorry to off load onto such an amazing forum.
