My life partner has Bipolar ii

My life partner has Bipolar ii

I unapologetically care for my husband who after a long mental health crisis has been diagnosed with Bipolar ii + more.

It is a tough gig at times but I believe we can live well in spite of his diagnosis.

I understand that not all relationships can survive a diagnosis and this is no criticism or judgement on anyone but in this thread I would love to give to and receive encouragement from others who hold the same value I have, that is that I voluntarily chose to remain in union with my husband to the exclusion of others and to ride out the bumps of his mental illness.

Dubious humour is guaranteed.

The last time on return from our trip away @Shaz51 Mr Darcy said he did not feel as though he was coming home.

We do live a long way from family and he doesn't have a good mate here @Shaz51 . As he does not work it can be lonely for him.

He does not travel well and found most of the holiday difficult.

That is the ironic thing with Mr Darcy, he doesn't like to sit around doing nothing on holidays and likes to get out and do things @Shaz51.

Last time we made time to check out where we are planning on moving to. As we felt it was going to be a suitable place, I think it added to Mr D's feelings of distress on return. He did not feel the same way on return from the hotter climates of Brisbane and Darwin.

Factoring in time for photography might be an option for your next holiday @Shaz51 . Mr Darcy doesn't have any hobbies like that but in the past have tried to get to the AFL if there is a suitable game on.

Haha, great reminder @Shaz51 and @Former-Member, flexibility is a key strength to have as a carer!
