NDIS support co ordination

NDIS support co ordination

once you have your NDIS package how long does it take for you to be linked into services, I have had my package 8 weeks, my support co ordinator has not linked me into any support services, I called her out on this only to be told, that I am a trouble maker and they have cancelled my service agreement and now I am left with no support co ordinater and no mental health supports.

Re: NDIS support co ordination

Hi @Dashee. I'm really sorry to hear about your experience. Being left without support and without an idea of where or how to go to access what you need, would be a scary place to be

I'm not familiar with how support coordination or allocation of supports works with the NDIS yet. Are you able to call the NDIA and ask them?

I found this info here on feedback and complaints if you wanted to pursue that, however it may be worth trying to work things out some more before going there, I'm not sure.

Is there a way to contact your support coordinator in writing (email perhaps)? Sometimes I find people are more likely to answer questions I have if they're in writing. It can also help to keep track of conversations too.

Wishing you the best with it all.

Hi @Dashee

Sorry to read of the position of no support you are finding yourself in right now. Going by your post it sounds like you were eligible for NDIS and are entitled to those supports in place. For the reasons you gave I don't believe they can be cancelled rightfully. I would be putting in a formal complaint. There is a govt webpage that you can google to register these type of complaints if you believe a public health support system has disadvantaged you. Hoping you find the right support soon.

I just realised @CheerBear provided a link to the complaint process @Dashee - I would be pursing this.

thanks everyone, I will pursue, this but sometimes it is so hard to do it on your own, if it needs to be done, I will do it.

Re: NDIS support co ordination

It is really hard to do this kind of thing on your own @Dashee. I am wondering whether it might help to look into some kind of advocacy support? The Disability Advocacy Network Australia have this link here that lists advocacy services, which you can search by state. I don't know whether it would be helpful to try, but if I was stuck I think that would be something I might look into.

There are a few threads on the NDIS on the forum if you would like to have a read of and/or reply to, which you can find by searching in the search bar. If you put the @ symbol in front of someone's username, they'll be tagged if you do want to reply. Other members may be able to point you in a different direction, or chat with you about their experiences.

Hope it all works out for you soon.
