That time of night

That time of night

Long term mental health issues and having a rough time of it lately. It's that time of night, between midnight and morning where everyone I know is asleep. Always a tough time for me, living alone and having no one to talk to - tonight though is a bit harder than usual. Anxiety, depression, sadness, loneliness - they all seem more opressively present tonight which is what has prompted me to go searching online for help or, at the very least, somewhere to just get some thoughts out.

I have a cat who is not well at the moment and chances are that is what has triggered this. I am well aware that my mental health problems have really shrunk my world and as a result this magnifies the effects of changes that will inevitably occur. I seem to be losing, more and more, the ability to deal with stress at any level. Loss and feeling alone in it all is certainly the hardest part.

anyways, not sure what I was hoping to achieve with this. Never been on one of these forums before. I was tempted to call a hotline but the thought of talking is causing additional stress so I thought maybe if I can just write something down in a public space it might ease my mind to make it a bit more bearable. y' know, make me feel like I am actually interacting with the world and doing/achieving something.

it is 3am here in Perth so I still have a ways to go. Still a really rough night, still feeling anxious, lonely and exhausted but I do feel a tiny bit better for writing something. Definitely better than doing nothing.

on the odd chance that anyone reads this - firstly, I hope it made some sense. Secondly, I hope your night is going ok and that you have the chance for some peacefull, restful sleep

🙂

Wow, what a beautiful soul you are. Keep writing to us, or writing it down to share it directly with god, call Lifeline if/when you want to (13 11 14) to talk it out (most operatives are good). Don't forget self-nurturing like chocolate and/or bubble baths. We're here for you if you want to stay online. There is always a way through and better days will come again. We're here for you if you want to stay online 🙂

Re: That time of night

Thankyou for replying 🙂

I am keeping lifeline in mind. If nothing else it is nice to have the option. I had heard of lifeline and beyond blue but had not considered going online for any of this sort've thing up til now. Glad I did. The more options and avenues I have the better - particularly at a time of night when it is the toughest for me and where I previously thought I had none

I am still finding it pretty hard at the moment but it is just that little bit more hopeful

thanks again

🙂

Keep online for as long as you want/need to. We will all try to help you. Lifeline is made for people like us (with mental illnesses) and is usually better than the mental health system. Stay online at the moment if you want and we will all try to help you. All people go through this at some point. We're here for you and i have just said a pray for you too 🙂 it just takes a little time and we will help you 🙂 how can we help you? what would you like us to do for you? are you ok just being connected online at the moment? you can 'talk' anything out here if you want or just stay connected until you want to contact someone else 🙂

Re: That time of night

No worries :). When you're ready to connect, Lifeline are usually pretty good and perfect for people in our situation (marginalised and with only the silly mental health service to turn to). You can lead a great and good and rewarding life once you've gotten past the hard stuff. You're clearly having a tough time at the moment and you need to get through that first. If you don't know how to get through the tough time then we'll help you and then you'll have those skills 🙂 of course, we all have to rise above at times too, but you're clearly a lovely person and it doesn't seem that you've failed in that area. you just need the skills to get through. We're here for you 🙂

Anyway, let us know what you need us to do, in any way, and Lifeline ARE mostly good when if/when you want to connect in that way 🙂
