Getting logged out frequently

Hi moderators and IT staff,

I’m sorry, I tried searching for an IT helpdesk in the search bar, and maybe I was using the wrong terminology but I couldn’t find one.

So I have come here to ask as I don’t know where to post this (sorry if it’s not the right thread).

I registered as a forum member yesterday and roughly every 10-20 minutes, I kept getting automatically logged out even though I selected the “stay signed in” option.

I reached out to a friendly moderator for help (thank you so much @Jupiter) who kindly suggested that I try a different browser. I did that last night and it worked brilliantly 😊

But today, I noticed it’s happening again (i.e. automatically being logged out every 10-20 minutes) so I’m hoping someone from the IT department might like to look into this?

Hey everyone 🙂

The tech stuff sounds really frustrating. I can see that @NikNik is already looking into it so I'll leave it in her capable hands for now.

In the short term, something that may help is deleting your browsing history, including 'cookies' - the web kind, not the delicious kind. Following this, try restarting your browser and logging into the forum again.

Hi everyone,

This is a tricky one because it could be something to do with the Forums, or with your settings (or both).

So here are some more questions to help us:

Are you using mobile? If so, the forums logout when you change IP addresses. For example, if you went from home wifi to your phone's data, it would log out.

Could you also let us know which:

Browser make and version (if possible)
Operating System and version (if possible)

and let us know if you have any Anti-virus and security software installed.
