In a jam, pickled, frozen, well preserved and other culinary triumphs
Cooking up a storm in the kitchen can be very satisfying.
This week I dried some chillies, they will probably take me year or more to use.

Sort of a cool climate guava @Bunniekins. In the same general family as guavas, but a more cold tolerant species. They've got a nice tangy flavour, make excellent jam and jelly, also good for eating fresh. The skin is tangier than the flesh, some people like it, some don't.

@Shaz51
1.5kg pumpkin, cubed
2 oranges - juice and zest
1kg sugar
1tspn each ginger, nutmeg & cinnamon
I plan to use the stick blender to make it smoother before it comes to setting point and then let it finish cooking.

@Shaz51 @Appleblossom
very pleased with the colour and consistency of the pumpkin jam
not sure if I like it... it does taste just like pumpkin pie... but like most jam, I find it a bit cloying.
It will probably be nice on a crusty loaf with butter as opposed to tasting it on a spoon.
Looks great.
