Oh wow @Wanderer ..... 😔
That’s huge .... and really hard to face ..... but it’s clear from what you are saying, that you will get up and on and just do it .....
Hugs n hugs ..... that’s so sucky its hard to even know what to say.
I hope your future school is such a wonderful fit for your daughter that you will feel this pain was worth it, to change direction. Would have been great to be able to change direction without the pain, but it is what it is now .....
Can you try an “alternative” school like Steiner or Montessori, or a religious-based school ? They are often (not always) a more tailored fit with a child who is extra-whatever. Under different circumstances I would probably have taken all my kids to a school like that, not because they weren’t “right” for a “regular” school, but because the learning opportunities can be magical, and the kids are encouraged to be themselves, to think outside of some social restrictions, learn in ways that are most comfortable for them, and reach for their best.
Perhaps you can suggest that life is sending her on a better journey, and although she is sad at the moment, there are lovely things to be found in exploring new opportunities ?
Good luck @Wanderer ..... and we are here walking along with you.
💜
