Battling MI whilst caring for someone with MI

Battling MI whilst caring for someone with MI

Struggling atm. Just want to chat, distract my mind. Mum has depression, recently discharged from mental health clinic. I can see she's not well but she internalises. We are usually so close but she just wants to be on her own, doesn't want to engage in much conversation. Perhaps I'm feeling sorry for myself as I miss our relationship. I can see that my depression and anxiety is increasing, which is making it harder to cope. Feeling alone tonight.

@utopia

That is awesome that you guys have a volunteer run cinema. And good on you for getting out.

So glad the physio helped our son. that’s sad to hear there will no longer be a band. What is VCE Music? Are private lessons an option?

I hope you are right too about mum coming home quicker from hospital. I didn’t see her today. I sound like such a baby but I miss her on the days I don’t see her. I spoke to her a few times. She sounded herself which was nice, bit forgetful. I am looking forward to speaking to the psych’s and seeing what can be done moving forwards. And I want to make sure they keep me in the loop with everything they do.

I think mum will be like a kid in a candy store when I bring her all her goodies tomorrow! I ended up spending about 4 hours in total at the shops. And coloured my hair when I got home – am very impressed with myself. I finally coloured it! haha, yes my uncle destroyed our bath so there goes that idea. But I had a nice hot shower. Ooh will have to check out ABC2 tonight.

Aaw that be nice seeing your mama tomorrow. She may even put the heater on for you! 😊 flamingos are very pretty aren’t they?

Good to have a silly sense of humour. Gotta laugh! And so pleased to hear you are in a good mood. And you can see all the positives around you which is awesome. Was the rest of your day calm and peaceful? I hope so. What have you been up to?

Omg utopia, I feel so fat tonight. All bloated and fat. Grrr. Ive got some soup defrosting in the microwave so will have that for dindin.

Hey what is the name of your thread luv?

I agree @outlander. Homemade gifts are definitely the best. As a mum these are the gifts that I cherish the most.

@Bella1978 - well done on finally colouring your hair. Bet you feel better now that it's done.
VCE music is the combined year 11 & 12 music. Like doing biology in your final years at school. Only music. The music teachers at school have wanted my son to do this since year 9. He is advanced in his music skills. Anyway fingers crossed that somehow we can keep the music program going.
I can't believe you braved different shopping centres for 4 hours. Make sure your mum knows. Great proof of your love for her. Not that she needs proof.
I'm sure she will love everything she sees today. But I think her favorite might end up being the cake. Lol. It would be mine.
Sorry to hear you feel bloated. It's such an uncomfortable feeling.
I've lost weight since not drinking. About 4 approx. I'm still allowing myself coke. But of course no where near the amount I used to consume when adding bourbon.
My thread is called 'home'. An old thread I had was called 'my hospital stay' - all about my day to day experiences with my hospital stays last year. Also includes what my ex psychiatrist tried to do to me - commit me to a locked ward in the public system because I dared ask for a second opinion - when his treatment suggestions became erratic.
ANC2 - has the kids programming until about 7pm. After that it becomes ABC Comedy for the rest of the night.
Yes as soon as mum knows what time we are coming - she will put the heater on a warm temperature. Laughable but frustrating at the same time. She needs to allow herself to be warm.
My son and his girlfriend went to the movies last night with 3 other friends to see 'Love Simon' - about a gay teenage boy who wants the love all his friends are finding in coupledom. They all really liked the movie. I'mglad to see this ggeneration doesn't have any hangups with the LGBTQI plus community.AlAlthough I have discussed it a lot with my boy from when he was very young. Have 3 generations of gay men in our family. Have a relative who has gone from female to male transitioning. So we are very inclusive in our family. And I'm proud to see my son and his friends also being inclusive.
Tomorrow is moving hospital day for your mum. I really hope the move goes smoothly and that she gets on really well with her new psych.
Enjoy your mothers day today.
