Fragile

Fragile

For a while I have tried to find a thread I had started when I joined the forum that could be a "home" thread for me.

Being busy about the forum has been a coping style, where I can acknowledge all my different life experiences that had been silenced. Possibly do some good and prevent things from getting worse. Like the little boy with the finger in the dyke.

The windward side ... aahhh ... @Owlunar ... we get a lot of wind in my front yard ... straight up the canal off the bay.

@Maggie Thanks it did make a difference to re-read it and ponder rather than strain ... lol ... just nice to have grown ups to talk to ...

Could it be a suckiling babe?

Re: Fragile

That is a fabulous picture @Appleblossom @Maggie - I am glad I went back and had another look

Yes - I know about the windward side - I have lived on the eastern side of Port Phillip Bay most of my life and it's a bit hilly here and we get the winds of Antartica - all winter - those days I tend to go to Flight Centre where the wind blows in and freezes the staff - but they are so friendly

And the oak tree poem - I am so glad someone posted it up so I could read it - I think we do learn our own strength from other people - otherwise how could we know?

I had a gum tree fall on my house some years back - someone had disturbed the roots and it came down in a storm - why did they do that? - we need all our assets when the cold, strong winds blow and the gum tree didn't.

And they don't fall in one crash either - at least this one didn't - it sort of slithered down - damaging a few tiles and the power line - I was thinking to myself - do I really want to go to bed in this storm - that creaky old tree might fall and then it did -

Just thinking about my story - the tree was undermined - the point is this - we must be sure to deal with the toxic and demanding issues in our lives - when life's storms hit we need everything we have to deal with them

WOW @Owlunar

I am on the opposite side of Port Phillip from you and @BlueBay

A tree falling on your house would have been terrifying.

Watched the Chinese The Nightingale movie over 3 sittings. I guess I was a bit unsettled, but it helped.

It is very picturesque and scenic. 20 years ago, I met a chinese lady who was trying to stop the bulldozing of old chinese villages and castles. At the time I could only imagine. Now watching the movie, I am amazed at the beautiful old buildings and huge twisted trees and village wells. Soothing music helps.

It also is a beauitful story about a little girl and an old man. Totally different culture and personalities but made me think about your pop. It is also about the old and the new ... and humanises "progress" ... a big deal in China.... a bit of a fairy tale maybe ...I also have my half chinese nephew to think of. It always helps to understand a bit of background culture.

Somehow I got through yesterday. My son home on leave .... delicate delicate .... I was too agitated to sit and listen to him play piano and I had to be down on my knees scrubbing out the tiny stains in the carpet ... will shampoo it today ...

So often in my life, so close to breaking ... life and death and serious issues always flaring ... but I have not broken yet ... at least I keep getting up ...

the day before seemed the last straw when I showed up to my gp's appointment and found she was at a funeral ... they had not let me know ... tears flowed ... as I hurriedly rescheduled ... but when I finally did see her ... it was worth it ... gives me a sense of hope and support ... she is so thorough and sensitive and intelligent.

Hi @Appleblossom

I was always concerned about that creaky rotten tree but when it fell it kind of did so graciously so it was bloody inconvenient rather than scary - it fell off the roof and surrounded my house and I couldn't get out the front door because it fell right against that and I got out the back door all right but then it blocked my carport and I had to find my way through it and I actually found someone else's car under it.

Funny - I didn't think it was that big - but it was huge on the ground - the SES came and cut it up and there was so much of it I wondered why I hadn't noticed all the before - but when it was vertical it was where it belonged

Yes - I understand that things would be delicate - delicate with your son around - do you feel as if you are walking on tippy-toe when you are not scrubbing the carpet

Take things easy - ummm - I dunno what else to say - I never knew how to behave around my mother - it sound uncomfortable

My back was giving me a hard time earlier but I went to sleep with the wheat pack behind my back ealier and I feel so much better now - I am trying to get things ready to go away - and things got behind when I had so much stress last week - but I will get there - in fact - looking at it all - I think I am just about ready to pack it up

I think I might be up to taking a walk to the shops at least - you are not far away on the other side of Port Phillip Bay - but it takes a long time to get there from here

Re: Fragile

@Appleblossom hang on to that sense of hope and support - so glad you have that in your life, especially at the moment. Sending more of both from me xx

Edit : reading back and I saw your picture from yesterday of the energy flow from person to person. Got me thinking. Most likely a Christian image I imagine, and I am not Christian myself, but I really believe in the healing power of the laying on of hands (as a long time massage therapist). I also believe that when 2 or more people gather in the name of something it's presence shall be felt. e.g. when a few of us offer support to someone here.

Have been thinking of you a lot lately.

Re: Fragile

@Appleblossom good that you could reschedule to see your GP and that she was caring and thorough. A good gp makes the world of difference - especially when we are struggling.

You do keep getting up and getting on with things Hon - despite all you are dealing with and going through - that takes courage and strength - two things you definitely have

Lots of love coming your way Apple

Re: Fragile

@Owlunar Falling trees are def issues and there was a recent death that way in the beautiful Dandenongs .. So sad.

We are not far at all as the crow flies. I have sailed around the bay a bit, so feel I know the body of water a little. When I was exploring my sea faring side.
