BabyDragon's Den

BabyDragon's Den

Hello, @Bunniekins, @Former-Member, @Snowie, @Former-Member, @Former-Member, @Faith-and-Hope, @Zoe7, @Former-Member, @OhanaSystem, @Jojo2, @Former-Member, @soul, @Appleblossom, @Shaz51, @outlander, @Former-Member, @Mazarita, @eth, @CheerBear, @Adge, @MDT, @Sophia1, @Silenus, @eudemonism, @TAB, @KobeCat and anyone else who pops by.

This is my special space and for now i will only talk here while i make myself feel safe.

For those tagged, it is because I connected with you on my previous profile. It is still going through the phase of being permenantly deactivated.

If you realise who I am or even if you dont, please do not mention my previous name for the sake of my sense of safety.

I am not up to talking about the specifics of my reason for changing but the basics are I felt I was in danger.

Anyway I will be sticking to just this thread till I feel okay to re-engage in others.

Re: BabyDragon's Den

@Snowie, I was actually trying to use studying as a distraction but my sh pain not the easiest to ignore. Felt good at the time regret it now.

@Appleblossom, I have a son who is 5 and on school holidays and then I've got my littles, the 2 younger ones actually refer to me as big sister which is ironic when I feel that a big sister is suppose to protect but they kinda protect me I suppose.
I'm studying teaching. Not that I would ever actually get to be a teacher my diagnosis stops that.

Hi @Former-Member,

I'm just sneaking in to whisper to you that we aren't allowed to talk about methods of SH here in Forum Land and I'm thinking that perhaps you may have done that in your post so you may want to edit it.

I'm curious as to how your diagnosis would prevent you from being a teacher. Has someone told you that?

Re: BabyDragon's Den

Studying teaching can have positive effects on your ability to parent or socialising later on. 3 under 6 is a big handful. Dont underestimate your need for down time .. that it is normal and not get so frustrated that you go to the extreme of sh.

Taking Care of you is important. @Former-Member

Re: BabyDragon's Den

sorry @Phoenix_Rising, didnt think about that I have fixed it.

even if I was to get my DID under control it would still limit the occupations I could take on as employers would fear a sudden relapes. the longest i have been with out switching was 2years and so I thought they were gone but about a year ago i was badly triggered and they came back. it is normal for alters 'rest' for long periods and for some people they are able to get their alters to join with them so they become 1 again but my psych has told me that for me to start doing that i have alot of things to work through first and some of it im just not ready to face it will be a long journey.

Re: BabyDragon's Den

@Former-Member nice edit of that post.

Thanks for explaining your reasoning for why you don't think you can be a teacher. I didn't realise you would need to disclose to the education department that you have a history of mental health issues. That super suprises me. It also super suprises me that this would exclude you from the profession.

Re: BabyDragon's Den

@Appleblossom, at the moment studying is driving me bonkers, its funny i thought that raising my brothers and sisters would have made parenting a walk in the park but it doesnt its just different struggles

Re: BabyDragon's Den

@Phoenix_Rising, it is for the safety of the children, if it could harm them physically or mentally then its not allowed. my mental health poses the risk to harm them mentally therefore I can not be a teacher, then same with any profession i cant even get a job at kmart cause im a liability if its not my DID then its my anxiety/panic disorder that can lead to me passing out from bad attacks

Re: BabyDragon's Den

By the way @Former-Member, I'm about to start a new crocheting adventure of making a baby dragon! It was seeing a super cute picture of crocheted baby dragons that inspired the crochet adventure in the first place. My greatest dilemma right now is what colour to make it. Do you have any thoughts about what colour I should choose?

Re: BabyDragon's Den

@Former-Member I am an oldest sister too. Different roles.

The main thing about parenting now would be to treat it as a marathon not a sprint.

Studying can be a long term project too.

WIth the lack of security as to when or if alters appear, I cna understand you might not want to teach fulltime in the educational system, but there are still other avenues in teaching that could suit you better. Tutoring and the hospitals and zoos employ teachers part-time ... so there are options.

Dont rush it.
