I have dealt with these feelings for decades ... it is related to spinal issues ... also may be fibromyalgia ...

I am wondering how common it is for others on the forum too.

I do. Related to a spinal injury (chronic sensitised pain syndrome) - and fibromyalgia. I wonder how many of us have immflamation related physical illness as well as brain stuff, too. I suspect that immflammatory response has something to do with my MI and cycles as well. As a result of my spinal njury I have several neurological problems, parastehsia, allodynia and sciatica.

Yeah, I always have, I guess - it's wrapped up in another condition, though. Sometimes I have difficulty doing "body scan" style meditations because I focus on the tingling/muted sensation and I get sad about it and then I have a panic attack. Sometimes I can face the body scans, sometimes I can't. I have more success with 'doing stuff' meditations.
