It doesn't seem to work.

It doesn't seem to work.

I am so sick and tired of family.

"Do what you want with your life" but don't move away.

"We'll go to your first NDIS meeting" but we won't go to family counselling with you.

I don't think they're playing mind games. Half of them aren't that clever. The others I've cut off or they've cut me off or we simply don't speak. The others are just well intentioned but too over protective.

I feel like I'm bending over backwards for everyone but me. They snap at me for being ungrateful, I never asked to be moved from the town I was happy living in. I wanted to stay there. I was mentally healthy there. But no! family has to be a herd that never seperates!

Sigh.

I know I can leave. So I'm waiting tor a place I can afford. I just wish my family would grow up and just help me a little. They're behaving like brats.

Hi @LadyleahRDBloom,

I walked away from my family thirteen years ago. Best thing I ever did! I hope you find a place you can afford super soon.

I sometimes think walking away from them. But that would hurt the people I do care about.

I don't mind that they can't support me. But I'd appreciate it if they'd stop freaking out about me needing something that they can't understand

Hi - we haven’t met before. You’re never going to please everyone @LadyleahRDBloom and family can be such harsh critics. Do what makes you happy.

Are you thinking of returning to the place where you used to live? I hope that you can come up with an alternative to where you are soon as it obviously is a source of discontent. Sometimes absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Is being nearer your family one of your support systems. I guess you need to think about how beneficial that would be.

Hi Soul, lovely to meet you on here.

I agree. Family's are harsh critics. I believe mine are within the realm of unbelievable because they have shown me that they can "pick" and "choose" family thus rendering the expression "You can choose your friends but you cannot choose your family." I want to find the orginal author of that quotation and say

"Have you met mine?"

It's more beneficial for me, mentally, to have limited time with them. So yes, relocating is the best thing for me. To me, being kind to animals, women in need and mentally healthy. being happy within myself is everything. I'm not interexted in becoming a self centred, whiny cow but I know what I want and what I do not want and I need to achive it away from their judgement and negativity.

What I do not want is to hurt the people I do love. I hate hurting people. I don;t enjoy upsetting them but this over protective, negative clinginess has got to stop. I just wish I had the magic words and a genie, lol!
