Something’s not right

Depression and anxiety

Depression and anxiety

I have been diagnosed with depression and anxiety 15 months ago for the 2nt time (1st was 5 years medicated).
This last month I’ve been changing dramatically. I’m up down and everywhere in between at any given moment. I’m not sure what’s going on. I’m restless I can’t sleep irritable confused. I don’t rationalise anything people say to me. I’m acting like a child and I’m not sure why. I’m scared that I’m always making something out of nothing. What do I do 😢

Re: Depression and anxiety

Sorry its been so long to get a reply @Mjn88

There are tips to manage things all over the forum if you type into the search bar, and also in the fact section of the website. It would be good if you had a mental health team that you trusted and could talk things through with.

I will tag you over to a social thread.

Take care

Re: Depression and anxiety

Hi @Mjn88. Also sorry to see you didn't get a reply here sooner.
I live with both anxiety and depression (and ptsd). It can be very difficult to manage sometimes. It can feel a bit like being all over the place for me, or up and down as you said. Sometimes it feels to me like being wide awake but completely exhausted, or having lots of energy but not knowing where best to put it. I describe it as a rollercoaster and it can be wild.
Do you have much in the way of support? As @appleblossom mentioned, it can really help to have a support team to talk with and work through things with.
This thread here has some great ideas for coping strategies if you're interested. There are some distractions, grounding activities and helpful bits and pieces I find can be useful during different experiences (of which there can be many when you live with anxiety and depression).
Best wishes

Hi @Mjn88 CandyCane one of the moderators here. Have you heard about "mindfulness" there are several videos on you tube about it and can be so helpful. It really helps to slow down and focus your energy/efforts inward and take good care of yourself.
