Struggling

Struggling

I have been on a new medication for four weeks from yesterday and it isn’t working. I don’t feel happy or sad I just feel empty. I am new to this forum. Lifeline recommended it to me tonight when I called them. I just want these meds to kick in 😞

Re: Struggling

@razza1987 Hi razza1987 and welcome to Formland. Yes it is frustrating for the meds to kick in but speaking from experience it can take a long time for the full effects to take affect. This is where Google is your friend ... I would get online and find out a much about the medication as possible and if you are still not happy go back to your doc. Hang in there and agai welcome 😄

Re: Struggling

Hey @razza1987,

Welcome to the forums. It sounds like a very hard time, being in limbo waiting for meds to kick in. Im glad that you are here and reaching out, I hope that you will find a network of support here while you wait this out.

Im wondering, other than the person managing your meds, do you have any other support right now, such as a psychologist?

Re: Struggling

Thank you both for the support. Friday was five weeks that I’ve been on these meds and I’m still waiting for them to kick in. Meds usually take longer to kick in for me. I wish I knew why. I was talking to my grandmother the other day and she told me that the last time I went on a new medication it took ten weeks for it to kick in. I spoke to my doctor a couple of weeks ago and said I like to give a med three months to see if they are going to help. He said usually he tells patients that is too long but for me it is a good idea. I just wish it didn’t take so long. This is a nightmare
