Feel like giving up

Feel like giving up

I feel like I just don't have the energy to keep going. Not suicidal. No energy to keep trying to connect with people, family. Group work, psychologist. It's all in the too hard basket. Well and truely stuck. My one wish would be for everyone to go away and leave me alone, and that isn't going to happen any time soon. I don't know what the answer is if there is one. I go through this on a disgusting regular basis and I am no closer to an answer. Eventual I start to come out of it but it can take months.. I feel like I don't know what to do anymore.

Glad you have a good private place to go Chris and I hope you are feeling better. I wish we had something like that here. Best wishes

Hi @Chris,

Glad to hear you're continuing to have a good experience in hospital, sounds like the group programs in particular are really helping you 🙂 Is there anything that you have learned in the mood patterns group that you think others on the Forums could benefit from hearing?

How did your appointment with the psychologist go yesterday? Did you start discussing a plan?

Also, did you end up visiting your granddaughters on Saturday? How was that?

I've noticed a change in your "voice" since you started this thread @Chris, you're sounding a lot more positive now, is that how you're feeling?

Keep looking after yourself,

Shimmer 🙂

Re: Feel like giving up

So I came home yesterday. I saw my psychiatrist before I left. He told me I am too stoic and I need to ask for help sooner. In future I am to email him on what's going on and will see me at short notice. He also said that he had been talking to the ward staff who said I appeared happier and was also laughing at time. He said he had no real explanation of this as the new medication was still kicking in.it was obvious that I had really needed the rest. Normally I would see him in a weeks time, but because of the Christmas break he is booked out till February .

so at this point I know I need to take things slowly. Very slow morning, then I decided to go to my local chemist to fill scripts. Only problem was I drove straight past the turn off and ended up at major intersection. Amazingly it didn't phase me, I just continued to the bigger shopping centre. Bought new swimmers so I can start going to the local pool within the next week is my goal. So alls well that ends well!

i havent unpacked yet and all my notes and discharge plan are in there. But I will let you know. For now I am only planning one or two thing to do each day. I feel I have accomplished a great deal today in spite. Of my fuddled brain!

by the way this has been my first admission in two and a half years.
