What you dont know about me, that I'd like you to know.

What you dont know about me, that I'd like you to know.

People have been very forthcoming in sharing their lived experience/s of mental health...thank-you

I thought is might be fun to share another side of ourselves, perhaps a side that people might not know, or just random facts about ourselves.

'Cause I know you guys are avid responders, giggle, lets keep the list to 3 random snippets of info that you'd like to share with others.

Go!

bibliophile (literally biblio/book, phile/lover)
noun
  1. a person who collects or has a great love of books.
    synonyms:book lover;
    informal bookworm;
    rare bibliomaniac, bibliomane, bibliolater

    That's me! We have a room that's intended to be a formal diningroom (huge house, long story) but it's the library instead. We have so many books they won't all fit into it.

    I used to say you can never have too many books, now I'm not so sure...

    🙂 Kristin

Oh wow - I'm learning so much about everyone here!

My random facts are;

1) Massive Manly Sea Eagle supporter (awaiting some form of moan, groan or eye roll here) and find it relaxing watching NRL on weekends

2) I really want to travel more... but I can never decide on a place... once I feel like I've made a choice and almost book it..I fear missing out on other places.. then go back into indecisions mode.

3) I love people watching - I have been known to make up back stories about people who are simply sitting in cafes....

Yes I quite enjoy people watching too when I am in the right frame of mind. I know what you mean about imagining the background stories.

Let me guess as a fellow bibliophile, books piled on window shelves, in boxes under beds or tables and of course no space for Knicks knacks on the bookshelves...😄😄next life I am definitely getting a built in library with rolling ladder...ooh and I would love clear glass doors on the book shelves to stop the dust😄😄😄

I'd like the entire Pali canon in its own bookcase (as is the custom). An SF collection of my favourite writers, the latest DSM featuring mental health, and a movie library.

Sci fi would have to include Ray Bradbury, Asimov, HG Wells, Heinlein and Ursula La Guin. Then, I will need the input from current scifi fans as to new and emerging writers as I am stuck in the past..would love to have DVD set of Blakes Seven and a copy of Bladerunner...when Harrison ford was great😄

Hi Alless,

To continue the list...

Clarke, David Brin, Greg Bear. To complement *lade Runner, perhaps some Phillip K *ick. His novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? was the inspiration. He also wrote the basis for Total Recall, and was self-diagnosed with MI so a lot of his work is about the nature of percieved reality.

Note: All * letters replace letters that make the words "not permitted" by the censor. Its a good thing I don't live in Scunthorpe.

Re: What you dont know about me, that I'd like you to know.

Where to start?

1)I love collecting things that I had in my childhood.Old books,toys,etc.Nothing better like having something that makes you feel good.I also collected old vinyl records.Its a passion.It takes your mind off of your health problems.Gives you breathing space.

2)Self help.I like learning.While I've got time to read I can learn something.I like buying self help books so I can get an education on something missing in my life.Knowledge is a great thing.

3)Self pride.Be proud of yourself.Accept yourself for who you are and what you.You got to this point in your age.Its all the experiences you had in your life.You can make changes for the future or you can sit on your backside and wait.Be proud of you.You're all you've got.
